Pakistan has to help itself before it can help anyone else. If Pakistan is growing above the world average, Pakistan will be in a better negotiating position. That is what Pakistan should aim for, rather then focusing on ways we can support china’s rise. We have a demographic dividend of 25-30 years in which to straighten ourselves out.

For example, We need to be domestically producing or at least co-producing most of what we need, rather then importing. An example is increasing crop yields and quality for export, while decreasing water and fertilizer use. Surplus income can go to human capital development, and other industrial growth, or expanding the canal network to create more arable land and to give more land for the rapidly growing population to farm. I hope we can turn the Cholistan desert into farmland, similar to what India has doke on its side the border.
