Four FC personnel injured in Mastung IED blast

QUETTA: Four FC personnel were injured on Monday as a roadside bomb exploded near their vehicle in Spalanji area of Mastung.

“An IED exploded near a FC vehicle on security duty of a construction of a road,” security sources said. The vehicle was partly damaged in the attack.

On Friday, a suicide bomb blast targeting the convoy of a senior politician in Balochistan killed 26 people and wounded 30 others — some of them critically — shattering a relative calm that has prevailed in recent weeks in the province. The blast in the town of Mastung, about 50km from the provincial capital, struck a vehicle carrying Senate Deputy Chairman Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, shortly after Friday prayers. The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) secretary-general escaped the attack with light wounds, medics said, but his driver and another aide in the same vehicle were killed.

Why is PA not replacing these death trap Hilux pickups?? In Balochistan province Pakistan should use MRAPS or APCS or the best option is the Strykers & Pakistan should invest on Strykers.

This area need operation. It been infested by terrorist groups and hardcore madrassah since early 90s. Even traveler avoid this route and its constituency of JUI-F. What stopping military to do operation in this area. .. no idea..

these Pick-ups needs to be replaces by some heavier Vehicles .. even FC must be give some APC and MRAPS for Patrolling .. FC will be first line of Defense/Offense after the FATA is cleared by Army and they went back to barracks ..

Really sad news. The need to equip our soldiers is high. They protect the nation and they need to be protected against unnecessary losses. I pray that the injured soldiers recover quickly. Despite all that budget why do we them using old and ineffective toyota pick up trucks.

This whole area is infested. A businessmen told me , it was safe till 80s, after mid 90 it turn into no go zone and totally controlled by terrorist. Number of time people been pulled from buses and got killed. But , govt is silent. Its constituency of Maluana Diesel .
