Four blasts in Manipur, no casualties reported

Imphal: Manipur was hit by four blasts on Independence Day today. However, no casualties were reported.

All blasts took place while Independence Day celebrations were underway in the state.

While three blasts happened in Imphal, one happened in Thoubal - Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh's district.

One of three blasts in Imphal happened in front of the Manipur Rifles establishment.

Serial bomb blasts rock Manipur on Independence Day

Imphal, Aug 15: Serial bomb blasts marred the Independence Day celebration in Manipur on Wednesday, Aug 15. At least four people were seriously injured in the four bomb blasts in the state. No casualty has been reported yet.
Police sources informed that while three bomb blasts rocked Imphal, the state capital, another bomb blast shook Thoubal.
Militant groups in the state earlier asked the people to boycott the Independence Day celebration in the state as the groups believe that Manipur was 'forcibly merged' with India in 1949.
However, without paying a heed to the militant groups' calls, aam-aadmi (common man) in the state participated in the celebration amid tight security.
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh hoisted the national flag at the parade ground of 1st Manipur Rifles battalion in Imphal.
Ibobi also urged the insurgents to give up the path of violence, arms and join the mainstream by participating in development works.
"There is no place for violence in a democratic set-up like ours and everything could be settled through discussions and dialogues," Ibobi said.
Insurgent outfits like United National Liberation Front, People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak, Revolutionary People's Front and Kanglei Yawol Kann Lup asked people to boycott the Independence Day.
The serial bomb blasts scared all and also raised some questions about security in the state. However, no insurgent group have claimed the responsibility of the blasts.

India takes care of its north east very well when compared to your country who have leased your tribal areas to United States of America. Only your politicians think pakistan is just upto peshwar.

He/She/It whatever is not Indian. By putting flags on, no one becomes of that nationality. Nationality and love for one's nation comes from within. Not by false flagging.
