Pakistan Army has been the biggest reason why we are at this position. The desire to stay in power or remote control civilian government has caused immense damage.

They continue to make mistakes, yet there is no accountability.

Astute and correct. Your political leaders inturn use the military as their trump card. Whoever has that card wins. And to help sustain military as a trump card, they go along with the false narratives such as foreign influence, American hegemony, Indian plot etc.

Thus military get their budgets and politicians (regardless of party) get to rule for sometime ...until the trump changes hands

Maybe you should listen to the interview instead of reading the headline.

No offence, but this bemari is rife in Pakistani society and is a foundation stone of our ruin.

We base opinions on headlines. I know for a fact you couldn't have possibly watched the interview, otherwise you'd have never had made that comment.

Forums used to be places where people used to read and discuss in depth but over the last 15-20 years i've found increasingly that our opinions are formed by short video clips, tweets and headlines. We have too much information available to us and instead of limiting what we focus on, we've started forming opinions based on other people's summaries. It's not a problem exclusive to Pakistani people, its global and its harming society as a whole.

To summarise he said if we are bankrupted, then we won't be able to pay salaries, we won't be able to defend our country, foreign aid will come with conditions including de-nuclearisation and then our enemies will pounce and make peices of our nation.

If you do not want to listen to the whole interview, at least listen to the whole question and answer.
