You can only understand if you know why he was given the sentence. It was not for his good things but for the bad things he did...and none of it is in your complaint/opinion above.
To put it briefly, he was found guilty of violating Pakistan's Constitution and was given sentence according to our Penal Code.
I will post below what Zia-ul-Haq said about the Pakistani Constitution :
What is a constitution? It is a booklet with twelve or ten pages. I can tear them away and say that tomorrow we shall live under a different system. Today, the people will follow wherever I lead. All the politicians including the once mighty Mr. Bhutto will follow me with tails wagging.
Sure, he is right that a Constitution can be changed, but what was the system that Zia-ul-Haq wanted instead ?? Why is Zia-ul-Haq not being blamed ?? Pakistanis should blame Zia-ul-Haq for that statement and other things.
I think Musharraf is being hounded by people who would not be unhappy if there is a Right-wing government again and so are angry with him for taking steps like the raid on Lal Masjid.
