Ex Indian prime minister cremated
Former Indian Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar, who died of cancer on Sunday, has been cremated in capital Delhi.
He was prime minister in a caretaker government for seven months, before resigning in March 1991.
He was a member of the Congress party for more than 15 years, but left to form the Janata Party in 1977.
Mr Shekhar became prime minister when the Congress party decided to support him to avoid a snap election.
Mr Shekhar ran a government with a bare majority, before Congress withdrew support over allegations that his government was spying on party leader Rajiv Gandhi.
Mr Shekhar is survived by two sons.
