ISLAMABAD: Former Director General of Intelligence Bureau (IB) Masood Sharif Khattak here on Friday announced his decision to join the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) along with his friends mostly belonging to his constituency NA-15, Karak.

“I hereby formally announce to join the PTI to serve the masses under its flag and leadership of Imran Khan,” he said this while addressing a news conference here. PTI Chairman Imran Khan was also present on the occasion.

Masood Sharif, who contested 2002-elections from his constituency NA-15, Karak, said there was a need to make collective efforts to steer the country out of crisis.

He expressed confidence that the PTI had the capacity to resolve problems of masses, adding that it would definitely come upto expectation of public especially youth after coming into power.

Imran Khan welcomed Masood Sharif in the party fold and invited the politicians having good repute in different parties to join the PTI, making it clear that corrupt elements would not be allowed to enter the party.

Dal me kuch kala hai..usually Pakistan armed forces and intelligence ex-staff avoid all kind of political association.

I am sure this is going to show Imran, who keep will check on whom?

Hint: IK comments 2 days ago regarding keeping army and ISI in check!

It is their personal decision to join or avoid, Mr. Masood Sharif is Retired He has NOC, he can join there is no restrictions upon him to Join Political Party or parties. There is no wrong in saying to keep check of Pak Army and ISI, good examples are US and Turkey.

.
Makhdoom Ameen Fahim Of PPP also worked for Intelligence bureau in 1990's

Massod Khatak start his politics from PPP. He participated in 2002 elections as PPP candidate.
He was the one of them who started operations in Karachi against terrorists or we can say against MQM.
He is a good guy.

Its a welcome move. Have a look at various videos of Khatak in the past talkshows and you will find him and upright and straight forward person.

Remember no one is perfect, not even Imran Khan but we got to pick the ones who are best among the available people. Its Allah and the messengers He sent were "Paak" and everyone else is not. So don't start cherry picking and do not expect these people to be saints. But I am confident that no corrupt and black-sheep will be able to make his/her inroad into PTI.

Imran Khan has himself said,

"There is no one in Pakistan that could defeat PTI at this stage except PTI itself and that will be; if we accept wrong people in PTI -or- if we make alliance with wrong parties."

Have your trust on Imran Khan, he is probebly more wise than many of the critics posting here.
