The Supreme People's Procuratorate has decided to arrest Hu Wenming, former Party chief and chairman of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC), over suspicion of taking bribes and abuse of power.

Investigation on Hu was completed by China's top disciplinary authority and his case has been transferred to the Supreme People's Procuratorate for prosecution.

Born in 1957, Hu had worked in several major Chinese state-owned arms companies including military aircraft developer and manufacturer Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), armored vehicle and munition developer China North Industries Group Corporation (NORINCO), and China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) and eventually CSIC, according to the People's Daily.

As the chief commander of China's aircraft carrier program, Hu oversaw the development of China's first domestically developed aircraft carrier and also the country's second one, christened "Shandong," when it was commissioned into the Chinese Navy in December 2019. On August 30, 2019, Hu, then aged 62, retired from his position as CSIC's Party chief and chairman, the company announced then on its website.

Investigation into his bribery case was announced in May, 2020.

. . . . . .
Corruption is rife in the communist party
Is that a fact or just your wild imagination?
How does corruption in China compare with USA or other nations?
In China, convicted corrupted officials gets executed.
Do you agree lobbying is bribery and bribery is corruption?
But that is legal in USA. :coffee:

Did I say China? Communist party are known for their corruption
The only ones that get prosecuted are the ones suspected of being against the top chairpersons.
lobbying is legalized corruption... but hey... China did benefit from it so :)

Isn't that the intended message you are trying to relay obvious?
How did China benefited from lobbying when unlike in the USA, lobbying is defined as corruption and a crime inside China.
I am reading an interesting book called A Warning - anonymous.
It is an insider's account that described the lawlessness and how chaotic the Trump Presidency was and the fallacy of Democracy in USA today.
Making USA democracy today more like a stolen model from the Welmar Banana Republic of the early 20th Century.
Dictators in the White House issuing more than 150 executive orders in order to bypass the elected representatives in the Congress.
Then what is election for?
To vote and elect your favorite dictator!
The decision to impeach a President is based on bipartisan support of the party and not whether or not he is guilty as charged.
If that being the case and in communism which you alleged is more corrupted then these top leaders of China would have escaped with impunity. :coffee:

Chinese shoot corrupt politicians
The "degeneration" of the politician happened because he "fell victim to the temptations of women and money, and took advantage…

Have you lived in a communist country? I’ve. We don’t have to walk on eggshells here. Evidence has been put forward at how China cracks down against anyone against party interest, (hall mark of communist regimes) this dude must have done something that made the top leaders disappointed and corruption charges are the first thing Chinese govt slaps against govt officials since it legitimizes their arrest.
even outside of this, their govt is corrupt..l just like all others. Bribery thrives in a communist state more than a free market state

The inclusiveness you described exists any form of government?
Dictators are more common in democratic states.
Power corrupts and absolute power...

More so of those example of highhandness and abuse of law in the democratic model that turned elected representatives into tyrants and dictators.

Draconian laws e.g. Homeland Security, Patriot Act, Internal Security Act, Sedition Act, etc are written into law and in USA FISA court, the prosecution evidences are not even shared with the defendents barristers.

Do you know how many people, guilty or innocent had disappeared after 911 using terrorism as a excuse and guise to arrest folks en masse in USA?

Sorry I don't buy all these democracy vs communism argument.

For me a good government must obey Law and Order and its people.

You're saying that bribery in a society that doesn't make money mean everything, is more prevalent, than in a society where money literally determines whether you live or die, such as India, which exports food despite Indians surviving on 80% the calories of Chinese, because it's more profitable to sell food than to feed Indians.

LMAO

That specific example is unique to india and not for the reasons you assume
Indians are the most frugal, cheap people you’ll meet if you haven’t met anyone. They would go through the hassle of setting up shady transfer channels than pay swift transfer charges.
look up the term “baniya” these people deal with businesses especially related to crops and farm produce, they want to maximize profit at all cost and would try to bargain for everything, even after you’ve made a business deal with them. I’ve met a few baniya here in ukraine, they would rather risk paying fines than to pay for public transportation and you wouldn’t believe how many have been humiliated more than once on the same day for trying to evade public transportation fees
