There is always hope.
I can’t help but agree that things in Pakistan don’t look so great. At this point our futures seem bleak, violent and void of optimism. Lost in an abyss of hopelessness, each one of us cringes at the mere thought of accidently landing upon a news channel while enjoying our addictive Urdu dramas. Our days are consumed by us frantically searching for alternative escape plans. Our minds occupied with crunching numbers to close business deals.
We restlessly anticipate the day we can pack up our lives in luggage bags and never look back. Contrary to the growth of digits in bank accounts, Pakistanis seem to depreciate in value. We often lose sight of the little things in life that somberly differentiate us from other nationalities across the globe. It is important to remember that even in the darkest times the road to hope maybe narrow and tired, but it still exists. Below are 8 quick reminders of why Pakistan is beautiful and Pakistanis are self-created heroes and ignorant comedians. Some may fret about my humor, for others it’s worth a try.
1. Never leave a brother behind:
No matter how physically crowded the train may be ‘dil mein jaga ho ne chaye hai’. As Pakistani’s you’ll never travel alone. Here we assign tickets not for just sitting inside the train but also clinging on to others body parts- mind you, on top of the train.
2. Sell our emotions:
As advertised at the back of a truck or rikshaw, we put a price on our emotions. Why not? Price determines value after all- Our love maybe expensive but of course, we guarantee a 100% discount.
3. Sell Brands for less:
4. Are welcoming
We are loud, open, friendly and welcoming. Younger or older, we are not picky. We ensure this by making sure our schools are child friendly. Feel free to drop off
your kids, we mean no harm.
5. Believe in happy endings:
Everyone deserves to be happy and share their lives with their soul mates. Had a bad experience? Don’t believe in love? Feel free to contact the number listed and find your special person.
6. Look out for one another:
7. Are Hip
8. Brave heart
We are Bullet-proof, strong, stubborn, resilient, brave. We say so many goodbyes each day but continue to survive.
