What's new

Forget Trump, what is China's Xi saying to us?

Countries should be motivated for industrial and infrastructure development yet essential needs like home appliances and good automobiles are heavily taxed by the government..until this rotten mind set will not chance..we will not grow a large consumer base and therefore our industry will continue to suck! What is produced here should be consumed here first..

Very good post. India Pakistani peace need self introspection from Indians as well. Which is too few and far in between in making a difference. Until then, there will be no peace in South Asia.

Indians need to give up their immature dramas and dreams of encircling Pakistan via Afghanistan first!

It's a capitalism crisis the world is pasing through. The central countries don't want to share, so they'll go for isolation - and, it's a spiral. The folks who are prepared to share will be the ultimate winner. The old world is going for its logical end, and a new one is springing up...

All wise and correct my friend... yet the fundamental question remains.. will be peaceful transition or a very violent one?

I for one, would like to know you. Try you subtle ways... I read you!

Do you mean like giving Pakistan MFN status? Or opening up trade with Pakistan and through Pakistan to Central Asia?
I suppose we wouldn't be doing justice to our "baniya" tag if we weren't trying to make money, but what's pakistans excuse?
Maybe you should prod your Pakistani friends rather than lecturing the Indians on "introspection".
India has always been open to trade with Pakistan as a hedge rather than MAD. Time for Pak to reciprocate.

Pakistan should give up on it's dream of capturing Kashmir and forgo its claim on Kashmir.

Talk is cheap. Instead of getting excited about soundbites, look at actions. Xi has presided over a great period for China indeed but it also has had major misfires economically, and in matters such as SCS.

There are two major areas where he has to somehow pay the bill without hard landing for China : the potential economic crisis due to the balloon of bankrupt debt sitting in Chinese provincial balance sheets; and the matter of unethical, sometimes illegal state sponsored intellectual property usurpations/thefts. These stand in the way of China's true ascendance.
