Foreign Service Reform

With the nation electing Imran Khan, I believe the conversation regarding foreign service reform needs to be initiated. Khan likes to think of himself as a reformer but I'm wondering, sincerely, has he ever called for the reform of Pakistan's strategic community? Foreign Ministry and Defense Ministry. Stock full of protocol officers who are more interested in serving tea rather than putting Pakistan's case across effectively. And no, Shireen Mazari is neither the answer nor a start.

Foreign Service needs to be reformed big, inter relate with Economic and Strategic partnership ties and extending Pakistanis and Pakistan reach to foreign countries grass-roots level.

If Pakistan is to break away from the archiac methods of the previous governments, a major overhaul is essential. Pakistani diplomats need to follow a strict code of conduct in the pursuit of national objectives, any deviation from which should result in an immediate expuslion.
When in foreign countries, Pakistani diplomats are notoriously known for neglecting their duties and consider the postings as a vocational opportunity. Not only they provide little to no services to the expat Pakistani's, they priortised own interests over that of the state fundamentals. Learning from snakes like Hussain Haqqani, it's imperative that the state of Pakistan implements a must-follow merit scale for political appointes.
