The U.S. automaker Ford Motor Co. will begin test-driving an autonomous car on Israeli roads within a few weeks, after obtaining permission from the Transportation Ministry.

Operated by the company’s research and development center in Israel, the driverless Ford Fusion will be equipped with cameras, radar and lidar sensor technology. The goal of the test is to enable the R&D team to personally see the algorithms they have developed operating in real-road conditions, said Udy Danino, the founder and CEO of SAIPS.

Yahoooodi saaaaazish

No but honestly Israel is a breath of fresh air. A society that is so focused on science and technology.

Breath of fresh air? Yuck! More like breath of re-breathed air - US breathes then Israel inhales the exhaled air. US is bankrolling them with unlimited money and these swines are giving nothing in return. Without US there is no Israel, its a society focused on leeching leeching and leeching!

Good try but no cigar.

Israel beat Arabs in 48 and 67 with zero US help (that makes it more impressive honestly)

Read some history please.

The kind of tech they have in Israel is amazing. Keep burning in your antisemitic yalla habibi myths.

Beating Arabs is your standard for success? And on top of that you think they did that without American help??? Remain ignorant and keep your yalla habibi to yourself wahtever that is. 🤣

Next you'll tell me the Houthis are a super power 😂 😂 😂

I agree this can take carbombings to a whole new level as all the tech is in the car.

Leaving aside the most apparent paranoias, there is also an ethical dillema for the self autonomous vehicle.

I am quite surprised Israel allowed this what is generally considered infancy phase of technology.

The data collected from California is encouraging but throwing caution to the wind never hurts.

Mobileye is Israeli. Tesla stealing all the FSD thunder with their own system. They aren't going to sit and wait until it is too late.

Remember Tesla ditched Mobileye for a new in-house system. Now Mobileye seen as playing catchup.
