I was about to do some Vlsi project in Pakistan, but seems like Pakistan is not allowed to even download embedded system development software. Moreover, it also seems like Pakistanis are also not allowed to use software related to embedded systems and VLSI design, which are offered by companies of US origin. Main parts are Mentor, Xilinx, Cadence etc.
So my question is, is USA our friend or enemy?
This also answered my old question: why in Pakistan we don't have big VLSI industry working.
I don't know whether other software industry is also getting affected or not.
So, here I would like to request the guys sitting in big positions in Pak govt to clear up this issue with US officials that they should relook upon this dark and deep embargoe on Pakistani people and Pakistani market.
If they say no, then from my side, it's already an all out war against Pakistan. And we should respond to it.

This affects development of FPGA based hardware and software in Pakistan. Similarly, ASIC, both digital and analog, are also no feasible to be developed in Pakistan.
How USA can call Pakistan its ally. Nobody in the world does this with its allies.
And let's not mention development of IA based software and hardware in Pakistan.
Another field for which I don't see any kind of environment in Pakistan is Quantum processors and Quantum computing.
Thank you USA.

I think this is true for chemical industry too.
There is certain segment of industry that operates on the production of industrial chemicals are also forbidden for Pakistan.
Even certain chemical paints and coatings can not be imported, or can not be produced in Pakistan.
My question is, can Imran Khan and his associates handle such issues?
Embargoes like these almost killed and paralyzed Pakistani industrial complex.

We have several restrictions abroad especially in the Europe, South America and also in North America including U.S. Even China can't give access to so e things inside China to Pakistanis. I know of someone who was not allowed in the labs despite being enrolled in the program, studying inside China, while rest of his Chinese classmates had freedom.

We are soo much scrutinized that even few people we bribe etc in the West can't follow through with our demands with certain technologies. And black market has it's limitations.

i remember when we tested our nukes in 1998, the french authorities at that time made a law or a notice to all universities to ban all students of Pakistani origin from studying in PhD related to nuclear science.

don’t know if this is still the case today.
Yes Pakistan has and should walk alone on the path of progress. Don’t use US material, don’t even use dollars. Because I learnt that even using a dollar (which is US property) for something prohibited by USA, will put you under federal crimes laws wherever you committed it.

Who is stopping pakistan from building VLSI? Who? Pakistan needs to man up and show two fingers to USA.

China will be building industries in pakistan to do all of that. USA can f*** off

Can you please elaborate which embedded softwares you are talking about?

No need to use insult. We should stay clean, keep our tongue pure.

remember these kind of embargoes are a chance for us. Look at Pressler. Now we have JF17.
Yes it will cost lot more, but if we use the chance we have to build ourselves all things we need, then we will be FREE.

This is old embargo, being Pakistani its very difficult to get your hand on FPGA, VLSI etc, etc but it doesn't mean we don't have the hardware or the software I used to teach verilog myself in a Pakistani organization. We have to make do with older software/hardware or compromise on quality by using lower standard stuff from our friends.

Took me 2 minutes to start downloading that stuff, its called VPN.

But why? It's a small thing.

buddy get them from China instead! far cheaper and far better in quality these days!

China has came a long long way and people simply do not realize about it.
