Forbes - Why Is This Man Banned For Life From Pakistani TV?

I don't know why Pakistani's are so sensitive about criticism - even from their own citizens. In almost every other democratic country one can openly criticize their government, army or any institution.

I know its out of context, but you're the ones who gave us the phrase:
zamana hum se hai, hum zamane sai nahin ! :agree:

The point being every person is independent and free to express themselves openly (within the law of course). You have blasphemy laws to protect your supreme authority - there is no reason to protect any other human being from criticism.

At least journalists are accountable; their words are out in the open so if they lie you can take them to court. Can you say the same for all the ridiculous propaganda spewed in mosques and behind closed doors everywhere?

In an honest society, people will make their point openly and take the criticism for it (as all journalist do). Only dishonest people are afraid to make their views open and subject to scrutiny.

The fundamental problem with regards to the debate of lucman being banned is where do we draw the line on freedom of speech
Is it ok for someone to continue to make accusation upon accusation without proof and that too to incite people in a complicated situation
Yes he does have freedom of speech and he can anything he wants to on the street but when he sits on a channel as a 'journalist' he has a duty to be unbiased and present facts and if he cant do that then he can sit on the sofa like us and say whatever he feels like...

If LuQ and TuQ did this in Canada today

or in USA

They will be behind bars, or under some big law suit, or both.

have you heard of this guy??
Jesse Ventura - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

or this channel :
RT (TV network) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

and they have one of USA's most respected TV personalities (Larry King) running a show where the government is often criticized...

and then this conspiracy theory guy, widely followed in USA:
Alex Jones (radio host) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

These are just some examples.....
