What's new

For Indian loving Bangladeshis

It appears you are deliberately misinterpreting my words. Nothing bitter in what I am saying. I think everyone in Bangladesh is frustrated with this government. I was merely expressing the popular sentiment. I think our border security should learn to shoot back and have a clear policy of defending Bangladesh citizens who live or work near the border.

I would hope that in future you stop behaving as an apologist for India and the BAL. You appear to be in the same category as Apocalypse and Eastwatch.

Yea I heard that RAW provided Tk. 200 Crore for the AL in the last elections and even helped in rigging the election results through Gen. Moin U. Ahmed but no I will not be voting for the BAL.

In that case you must have also heard about BNP approaching us and assuring their support ... Expect the same this time also

Yes I have heard that also that is why I am not a direct supporter of the BNP either ........

I often wonder that even though Army in Bangladesh is significantly weaker than PA and the Bangladeshis Civil society is much more vibrant and intellectual than its counterpart in Pakistan, why does the armed forces acquire the central stage in politics..? At least 20-25% percent Bangladeshis I have met prefer BA over the two main parties...

.
Hasina or Khaleda...its just names and both have a price.

Bangladeshis dont waste time hating India. You ain't going nowhere.

That still remains indian pipe dream. india had tried to influence BNP and failed and india will keep trying. Because at the end of the day people has thrown out Awami league in the trash can history. But india will stick with Awami staooges as long there is no other place to go. That is the reality for india today and that why we are witnessing indian with lack of better alternative trying to destroy Bangladesh army so subservient army keep quiet on indo-Awami anti state activities.

If all else fails india will resort to assassination of BNP leaders and leaderships as india has history of state sponsor terrorism. Just like india assasinated Nepal king and Ziaur Rahman in Bangladesh.

.
The torturing was brutal and to be condemned. But do the Bangladeshis know for sure that he's innocent? I am pretty sure BDR is as unprofessional as BSF in tackling smugglers and he would have met with the same fate had he been caught by BDR unless of course he bribed his way out. Its more to do with brutal policing than with hating a nationality or religion.

I am as Anti BAL as they come, BAL`s reaction on the border incidicent kept the bangladeshi citizens a lot to be desired with statements from their top politcians that these are a regular thing in the border. But, fact of the matter is both BAL and BNP needs the backing of India to come to power. BNP does similar deals with India, India is just too strong a neighbor for a country like Bangladesh to do anything to them ``Only a fool fights a war he knows he can`t win `` - Son Tzu.....``if your enemy is stronger than you are, evade him``- Son Tzu.

Raw Agent Munshi: Shoot back? To save a smuggler?

Torturing is wrong. So is shooting back to save a smuggler.

Two wrongs don't make a right!

The OP: If by saying "indian loving members" you're referring to the non-jamati members, no the video didn't affect me the slightest. I don't operate by mob psychology. I condemn the act, but this shouldn't come in the way of a peaceful relationship. BNP wouldn't have protested by ordering to shoot back either. It's immature and short-sighted.

It would be nice you could act like a true son of the land. There is no gurantee that will work, but it just might !!

It is extremely sad and unfortunate that instances like this occur. Its fine to shoot smugglers in the dark, but no one should be tortured once he is captured. But having said this , Bangladesh should take some steps to ensure that citizens don't go too close to the border.

Actually I will take the poor smuggler's side. When u have nothing and family to feed, he can be pardon if he steals, in this case smuggling. Omar (r) pardoned a thief because he had nothing. But if u are rich and steals like Bangladeshi politicians, then appropriate measure should be taken.

Sorry, I'm not a very emotional person.

There is no alternative to having a good relationship with India. I've been thinking about the future, for a while now!

We can't be engaged in a conflict with a large neighboring country next to home. It's doing no good to any of us.

Sometimes little sacrifices have to be made for greater good.

The only thing that can sustain BD's survival is resources. Africa has tons of it. We need either India or China's backing to exploit resources deep inside the continent, creating more chaos and instability there (necessary for continued exploitation) in the process.

Time is running out while we're engaged in a perpetual debate: AL vs BNP, liberals vs conservatives.

We have to take the first step and pacify India to secure a stable future. Again, I've given this a very thorough thought over the last few months, we can't keep up with having a hostile large neighbor. The BD model of a country is already unsustainable, with or without hostility from around us.
