The Foreign Office (FO) on Monday dismissed reports that a Pakistani student was killed in China after a video went viral on social media and clarified that it was a case of suicide.

“A Pakistani student Usama Ahmad Khan committed suicide in Shenyang city of the Liaoning province in China. He was a student of Shenyang Jianzhu University,” said the FO statement.

The office asserted that the video circulating online showing a Chinese woman weeping over a body was not of Usama.




“The video being circulated on social media is fake and is not that of Usama Ahmad Khan. We request all to help us in exercising caution in such matters, avoiding sensationalism and stop spreading of ‘fake news.”

Mental health: Campaign launched to curb suicides

The FO added that a Pakistani embassy officer had been deputed to Shenyang and he had met with students and faculty of the university as well as police authorities.

“Throughout this process, he remained in close contact with the family of the deceased and got full support from the Chinese authorities,” the press release added.

The body was transported from Liaoning to Beijing on November 17.

“In close coordination with the family, the Mission will send the body to Pakistan… All arrangements are now in place for transportation of the body to Pakistan tonight

今天上午，事件中的当事人出面回应了，这只是一起家庭矛盾引发的纠纷，男子只是受了轻微伤，并无大碍，双方已和解。

视频中，一名男子被按倒在地，一名穿土黄色外套的男子正按住他，用脚踢他的身体。旁边一名女子在尖叫，并制止打人男子继续动手。后来，有一名女子跑过去，喊“警察来了”。

第二个视频里，打人男子用方言不知说着什么，继续按着该男子。旁边有两名女子。旁边的地上散落着手机和衣服，地上还有疑似血迹。

今日上午10时许，海都记者从石狮警方获悉，这并不是网上所谣传的砍死人案件，而是家庭纠纷引起的撕打事件。网传的是谣言，请市民不要信谣传谣。

海都记者联系上其中一名当事男子，34岁的湖南人向先生。据他表示，事发地是在宝盖镇前坑村。被打男子是他的妹夫。因为妹妹和妹夫发生家庭矛盾，昨晚8时许，他找到妹夫，原本是要接他们一起回老家冷静冷静。后来，双方都控制不住情绪，他就动了手，打了妹夫。

所幸，妹夫的伤势并不重，后经鉴定，只是轻微伤。在宝盖派出所民警介入调解后，对双方进行了批评教育，双方也都认识到自己的错误，达成和解。

First I don't what really happened and who that guy is, brawls can happen in every country China is no exception, but compare to other countries, it's not very common. Happy to see no one gets hurt in the end.

Yeah, there is a crisis of credibility here since most of the video description says its the pakistani student.

First I don't what really happened and who that guy is, brawls can happen in every country China is no exception, but compare to other countries, it's not very common. Happy to see no one gets hurt in the end.

Yes, that pakistani student is so lucky to be attacked for carrying a Fan. Lucky he was only hit with a big @ss stick and not stabbed with that knife. I am glad you are happy to see that video. I cant say I feel the same.

You realize that in most countries this would be categorized as a "Hate crime".

The guy being pinned down on the street is one of the attackers brother in law, they were supposed to meet and go home together but somehow started quarreling and went into blows.

The guy on the ground was only lightly injured, later on the police came and they agreed to make up, no one is detained in this minor incident.

I know it is fake with my first glance, cause the fake story claims it's in Shenyang. Shenyang is in north east China and by this time of the year it's already full winter, but in this video people only wear light jackets and even shirts, it can't be in Shenyang or it must be an old video, everything just don't add up.

Don't know, check the news, every year some Chinese students are killed in US , but still people go to study, there is a risk living abroad, I agree with that, but comparatively speaking, foreign students are safer in China than other countries.
