North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho has paid an official visit to the Iranian capital, Tehran, for talks on bilateral relations and other issues of common interest.

Heading a high-ranking delegation, the top North Korean diplomat arrived in Tehran on Tuesday and met with his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Javad Zarif, for discussions on bilateral, regional and international issues.

During the meeting, which took place at Ri’s own request, the two ministers expressed satisfaction with the quality of Tehran-Pyongyang ties and welcomed further enhancement of relations, IRNA reported.

Last time he visited Tehran, he was accompanying a North Korean delegation to take part in President Hassan Rouhani’s inauguration ceremony.

This is the first time a senior North Korean official visits Iran since June 12, when US President Donald Trump held a historic summit with the Asian country's leader Kim Jong-un in Singapore.

The North Korean minister, whose country has for years been under pressure by the US, arrived in Tehran hours after Washington re-imposed its sanctions against Iran, which had been lifted under a 2015 multilateral nuclear deal.

The US unilaterally pulled out of that deal in May.

Tehran has invariably called for peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula, while discouraging regional tensions that could pave the way for foreign intervention.

The Islamic Republic has also warned Pyongyang of Washington's unreliability when it comes to deal making.

I think they are still under UN sanctions. However, I think they have some interesting missile technology that Iran might be interested in.

Yes,those RD-250 rocket engines should be at the top of the acquisitions list for iran,plus a couple of "other" things I can think of.

if we want to get one submarine and copy it , the better option is one of our Kilo Submarine , Sinpo is based on Golf Submarine which is at least more than 2 decade older than Kilo.

if we want to get one submarine and copy it , the better option is one of our Kilo Submarine , Sinpo is based on Golf Submarine which is at least more than 2 decade older than Kilo.

we need blue prints, Russians won't help us at this case.For copying Kilo We must do that alone with spend of a lot of time and $ and many testing and failure to reach acceptable result.

we don't need the blueprint for that as we already dismantled and then put together Yunes .
by the way Kilo Submarine is capable of missile launch ,the model we get (Type 877) don't get the upgrade but it can be upgraded for that . and the final result would be a lot better than Sinpo.
just be aware you are going after noisy Sinpo ,instead of investing in one of the Quietest submarine that was built . also don't forget the range of Kilo is 3 time of the range of Sinpo (a Project 877 kilo Submarine can move 6000 miles snorkeling or 400miles submerged a project 636 Kilo Submarine can move 7500miles wile snorkeling)
also a kilo submarine can reload torpedoes a lot faster than Sinpo Submarine and not to say a lot quieter ,and why launch ballistic missile from submarines ? we don't have nukes ?
the ability to launch cruise missiles is a lot more useful for us and for that we don't even need vertical launch tube .

The sinpo concept,ie a diesel/electric missile sub,is based on the golf concept but there are some very critical differences with the main one being that the golfs were first designed as regular d/e attack subs that were then extensively modified to carry ssms,the sinpo/gorae class boat however was designed from the outset as a missile boat,tho likely this was to some degree intended just as a prototype/test boat both for the actual boat design and the missile and its systems integration.
The probable production version would pack more than just one tube probably between 3-6 tubes in fact,now altho that number isnt huge by international standards its still nothing to be sneered at and in addition if you change the loadout from ssm to cruise missiles then you can at least triple the weapons load,which would give you between 9-18 cm which could certainly do some damage.This loadout would give iran the capability to credibly threaten diego garcia and if fired from within the red sea targets in central and western europe as well.
The big advantage with the sinpo/gorae over the gulf is that this was designed from the outset as a missile boat whereas the golf was not and was in fact just a quick and dirty ie cheap modification,with all of the problems that usually go along with this sort of approach,so that the soviets could quickly get more missiles at sea despite its obvious disadvantages.
The sinpo/gorae class would certainly provide iran with a very good starting point for a dual use sub design in the 1500+ ton range that I`m sure iran could improve upon.In addition when one considers the likely huge problems encountered with the indigenous 400-500 ton fateh class sub that despite being put in the water several years ago has still not be commissioned into navy service and the fact that the construction of the 1000+ ton besal is likely years away,then the sinpo/gorae boat starts to look quite promising.
