Five Lions Attack Gaushala In Gujarat, Maul 15 Cows In Just 45 Minutes

@Politico and @El Sidd We have had this dicussion before. Asiatic lions are healthy and multiplying at a more than healthy rate in India. They are no longer confined to the Gir forest and have spread out all over Saurashtra. About 22,000 km. The people there so far have not negatively reacted to even killings humans by the lions so killing of cows by the lions is not much of a bother. The govt compensates them and they are okay with it.

Gujarat is being petty minded by not allowing few of its lions to be moved to Kuno palpur forest in Madhya pradesh which has been prepped for them.

The Lions are now forced to prey on human habitat and its just a matter of time when the humans decide enough is enough.

.
that is just not true no matter what you say......
i am not a physician but i am sure others will answer you on this

archeology has proven that Man has eaten meat for all his life.

The 500 odd million Indian vegetarian population is evidence that healthy life is possible with vegetarianism. I don't know what more refutation is required. The point is not whether man has eaten meat all his life or not. No where in Hinduism too does it strictly advocate vegetarianism. The point is how to live while causing minimal harm.

I think they are trying out something not tried before. Cohabitation of lions and humans with minimal possible conflict. Gujaratis have so far been very accomodative and I think that will continue even if a few lions are relocated to MP.

Nah I meant Gita for that is how Gandhi is said to have interpreted Krishna's advice to Arjun. Yes one is free to believe anything and that is all you are doing too unless you have experiential evidence for your claims.

Nope. My interpretation comes from the scriptures.

Most hindus confuse the description of Kamadhenu which is suppose to contain all the gods and transpose it on all cows.

yeah but how minimal are you willing to go?

take the topic for example..... lions are finding hard to adapt to the environment. they treat the crop fields like its the savannah and the cheetal bucks or pigs too. so how much sacrifice are people willing to make.

it is just no practical. sure you have 500 million vegetarians strict to their sense but then we do not have 1 billion strict meat eaters. it all evens out. once you push your way of living on others it creates discord.

this is just not practical

I hope you find this thread still silly if God forbid a Britisher gets lynched in India for possessing beef

They days of the british coming to India to kill cows is Long Gone. Its not going to happen again anytime soon.

.
that is wonderful news.

this news article actually highlights the lengths of which the people have to go to make room for the lions. 300 cows in a pen is quite unhealthy...... and it also gives adequate chances for the people to play the system into reeking more compensation since now this is somehow a religious/political issue.

The villagers have to provide evidence of killed beasts before they can claim compensation, so it is not that easy to play the system now. A few here or there does not matter. Lions killing animals is not a political or religious issue. No one gets bothered by that.

.
Human system is also perfectly adapted to process alcohol, drugs and "process" various harmful bacteria and a few viruses.
If you want to make any of those part of regular diet be my guest. It's your choice just like being an omnivore is my choice
In fact, its also adapted to live in the tundra as well as the sahara dessert. So why don't you go live there ?

If the need arises why not? See the human body is one tough machine. Breaking down animal protein is no problem for it

How minimal is an individual choice. There is no set point. Indians went as far as vegetarianism. In their new found zeal Westerners are opting for Vegan. They too will come to some moderation after a time period. Lions are not finding it hard to adapt to the system. They are thriving here. Most Gujaratis are vegetarians so there is no competition for food with the lions. The cheetals, bucks, and pigs are all for the lions taking. In fact the landscape is heavily populated with all kinds of wildlife because the humans living there are so benign.

If you read any travellers blog you will find many western tourists yearning for beef in India and some searching for it. It's actually a matter of time

Gujarat govt. is REFUSING to part with a few lions to relocate to MP despite the SC order.

MP is now looking to source Lions from ZOO's all over the world and India to introduce them in the forest reserved for them.

Hmm. Give me the quotes.

I will. Let me dig it up from Matsya puran.

There are many travelers who yearn to practice pedophilia in India too. That too is not happening. We are not Thailand. or pakistan or china. We are India.

yes ofcourse but this is Gujrat...... one or two one can always avoid or ignore.... but this can quickly catch on..

was this a Maldhari camp which got affected or some other nomadic tribe?

you see you are too busy cherrypicking the success you do not see the obvious loophole.
the lions may have enough game to pounce upon for the time being but deforestation of the land will result in less and less prey and thus unsettling the fine balance. furthermore even the game is feeding on the crops as there is no dense forest left. Why is Gujrat not opting for a Kaziranga or Ranthanbore type solution to this is beyond me?

and as far as vegan or vegetarian...its just fashion in the west nothing else. moderation is something different. there are no exclusive meat eaters in the world.

....

There are many travelers who yearn to practice ....

I don't know what other tabs you have open in your browser that made you give examples of sex tourism in your post but I was just saying that it is only a matter of time before some poor tourist is going to get in to trouble for eating beef
