I've heard we'll get 12.

How many VVIP-transports and how many for utility ops for SPG?

I belive the ratio is 8 configured for VVIP usage and 4 for use as supporting role by SPG.

No problem, just a bit perplexed as to why it appears the AW-101s for VVIP use won't be painted in the stadard VVIP IAF Communication SQD as was speculated:

Unless the first one to be delivered (or this one at least) will be a utility version for use by SPG which was expected to be painted all grey.


Just have to wait and see I guess!

Interesting to note that this AW-101 has a slightly less complete defensive aid suite so it must be one of the 4 utility versions for use by the SPG:

Sir, don't be a fool. These helos are only for the most senior members of the Indian government and these people deserve the best India can afford as their safety is paramount to India. Don't engage in the nonsensical rhetoric.
