Kong Dejun 孔德軍 is a 77the generation descendant of Confucius in the direct male line and a prominent scholar on Islam and Arabic in China, from Qinghai province. (The character De (德) in his name indicates he belongs to the 77th generation of Confucius's family). He is a Muslim, several thousand of Confucius descendants living in Qinghai, Gansu and Yunnan provinces are Muslim (the total number of descendants is several million)

Islamabad: The first Chinese student of Arabic Studies Department at National University of Modern Languages (NUML), conferred upon PhD degree in Arabic. After the successful defence of his PhD thesis by a panel of veteran academicians at NUML, Kong dejun (Ayub) son of Kong Lingzhen was awarded the coveted degree in the discipline of Arabic Language and Literature. Kong dejun (Ayub) conducted his research on the topic of ‘Difficulties in Translating Meanings of the Quran’ under the supervision of Dr Syed Ali Anwar.

It is pertinent to mention that Kong dejun (Ayub) is the first Chinese national students at NUML who has completed his PhD in Arabic language. Kong dejun is a prominent scholar and translator in China. He is very famous person in Arab world for his translation of ‘Tafseer Ibn-e-Kaseer’ which is published by Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Besides, he has translated many other books into Chinese language and also translated famous Chinese philosopher Confucius into Arabic language. Kong dejun (Ayub) said that the environment and guidance of his teachers at NUML made his research possible and his thesis will help students and researchers in understanding the semantic layers of the words of the Quran.

ISLAMABAD - The first Chinese student of Arabic Studies Department at National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Islamabad, conferred upon PhD degree in Arabic.

After the successful defence of his PhD thesis by a panel of veteran academicians at NUML, Kong dejun (Ayub) was awarded the coveted degree in the discipline of Arabic Language and Literature. Kong dejun (Ayub) conducted his research on the topic of "Difficulties in Translating Meanings of the Quran" under the supervision of Dr Syed Ali Anwar.

It is pertinent to mention that Kong is the first Chinese national student at NUML who has completed his PhD in Arabic language. He is a prominent scholar and translator in China.

Besides, he has translated many other books into Chinese and also translated famous Chinese philosopher Confucius into Arabic.
