What's new

First BrahMos ALCM equipped Su-30 MKI squadron inducted in IAF

HQ 9 is pretty much on the cards. S400, NASAM-II, Spyder and Akash will be useless against our Air Launch Hypersonic Cruise Missile

thats the thing Pakistan doesn’t have any hypersonic cruise missile only one coming up soon in Our region is IndoRussian Brahmos-2 which is still a decade away from initial commission.
I am talking about end to end Hypersonic missile not a missile which goes into hypersonic mode at its very last leg.

I learned not all Su-30s can carry Brahmos because of weight and their wing-structures had to be re-enforced to enable the carry this missile.
A total of 36 i.e., 2 squadrons (some reports say 42-45) of Su-30s are being modified to carry the Brahmos. Also, the Brahmos NG dubbed the mini is under development which will eventually be integrated on all aerial and low-tonnage naval platforms without needing any structural changes

All previous Brahmos had a maximum range of 290km due to MTCR limitations. Now that we're a member of MTCR, all future inductions will be 500km with current ones being upgraded to 400km+

HQ-9 is reportedly on par with S-300 but not S-400 which is also why the Chinese are procuring the S-400. Spyder, NASAM, & Akash are currently in limited numbers but more orders have been placed for Akash recently.

Secondly, you don't have any developmental progress in hypersonic missiles. India is much ahead in that regard and has successfully tested the Hypersonic Technology Demonstrator Vehicle (HSTDV) last year. A scaled down version of Brahmos's hypersonic variant dubbed the Brahmos-II has been revealed last year which is actively under development

Russians were asking too much to upgrade... India went ahead on its own with a fraction of cost and upgrading Su-30 MKI on its own to carry Brahmos.

So there is no Super Su?

So, they'll now fire long rage (>100km) supersonic missiles!!!! Firing such missiles may mistakenly trigger the MAD with the first-strike advantage to Pak...

Recent Iran-USA fiasco has shown being at the receiving end of BMs from a neighboring country is no fun....

"We will not think to retaliate, we will retaliate"...

"We will surprise you"...

"We will control the escalation ladder".....

thats another program... Su-30 upgrade to carry Brahmos is minor one and will only be undertaken on 40 odd planes...
Su-30 MLU is completely different to that and need Russian support. A more powerful PESA hybrid radar more powerful engines will be Integrated
