Tomorrow we may be in Ukrainian shoes in the event of war with China where we may need to rely on American weapons and geospatial intelligence to win the conflict. On our own we can only achieve a stalemate at this point provided our current leadership is not replaced

USA has its interests in countering Russians for obvious reasons and will do so as expected

Russians aided American opponents in Korean war and Vietnam war, USA is doing the same
