There are examples where countries have managed to eliminate cash based economy. Sweden being prime example and has made strides on that domain. If govt targets wholesalers are tax the goods at source then there is no need to run after individual shop owners. I fully support documentation of economy otherwise we will never be able to rid ourselves the curse of low revenue collection. Undocumented economy is also the biggest source of money laundering and dollar flights out of the country. Right now half of Pakistani economy is undocumented we need to document at least 70-80% to achieve a resilient and sustainable economy.

Pakistan has one of the lowest tax to GDP ratio which is unacceptable for a developing country. The businessmen and business owners are having a luxury life. No rules apply to them and they r enjoying. The poor labourers and mid level employees face problems, they r made to work for 12 hours with limited pay, the owners complain of taxes and all that and lives in DHA in 12 kanal houses and have multiple land cruisers, their kids study in beacon house and then abroad for further education.

1. it rains in karachi . and we find there are no drains . the city is swamped and ppl suffer.

2.govt funds are routinely squandered and wasted in every project . not a single govt project gets completed on time and almost always cost is overrun. you can come with me to PKLI where i see this every day. the floor tiles are breaking apart after barely three years?

3. tax and custom officials are routinely found to be embezzling funds . stealing tax payer money

the list is long and endless

no one from govt asks the tax payer when it is wasting their money . there has never been an open audit .
