FIA bars Ashraf, other in RPPs scam from leaving Pakistan

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has barred former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and other accused in Rs22 billion Rental Power Projects (RPPs) scam case from leaving Pakistan, Geo News reported Monday.

The FIA has ordered all the airports in the country as well as the immigration authorities to ensure that all the accused in the RPP case including Raja Pervez Ashraf do not leave Pakistan.

Earlier, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had decided to file a reference in the RPPs case after May 11 elections.

In March, the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) had issued a contempt of court notice to former premier Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on trying to influence the court by writing a letter to Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry for constituting a commission to investigate the RPPs scam case.

Ashraf, has suffered a humiliating defeat in NA-51.

As per unofficial and initial, results Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Raja Mohammad Javed Ikhlas won the seat.

Ikhlas drew 82,339 while Raja Pervez Ashraf was way down with 23,233 votes received.

So Raja rental...seems like your days are numbered....

Well said.....I am anxiously waiting for his arrest and trial...and he should also be charged of murder of two innocent NAB officers...I think that law enforcement agencies were anxiously waiting for his downfall..so that he could be arrested thats why no prominent action was taken during his rule as he was in power to remove/alter all the accusations and proves..now raja ab bajay ga tera baaja!!!
