Firstly, you should know which country is the world biggest market now. It's China, not US anymore. Germany and other western countries wouldn't be that stupid to side with second largest and more and more conservative market to counter their biggest customer.

Secondly, US dollar will lose it dominant position if US severes business with China. On one hand, China can junk US dollar with its huge currency reserves and bond. On the other hand, US dollar will be less useful if it can not be used in all business with biggest market and industry country.

Until the Yuan replaces the dollar, until China controls Germany and Japan, everything else is cheap talk.
