What's new

FDI grows 132% to $340.8m as China dominates

. . . . .
the investment is not nearly enough for 1.4 billion people(twice as pakistan)
most of investment is coming into specific areas creating jobs for specific portion of population

the fact is modern miracle in human history, china, is still poor..india is no where near replicating this
Hi @ziaulislam
Firstly let me point out that I agree with some of your points and disagree with certain others. For starters there is no doubt that a country as vast as India, the FDI we receive is certainly not enough. There are some facts-
https://www.ibef.org/economy/foreign-direct-investment.aspx
This states that throughout the full fiscal year '17-'18 India received/will receive close to $50bn FDI. This figure is roughly 20 times that of Pakistan's for the same duration. This is still 3-3.5 times than that of Pakistan if population is taken into account-

Infrastructure development alone would require something like ~$1tn in next 5-10 years. So, India would need something like 3-4 times than what it is getting now, in order to keep pace with the massive scale of developments that are taking place.
Also I agree, Indian model of development can not be equated to that of China. The authoritarian system trumps the democratic system in sheer rate of development. There is no doubt about that. However in recent years, the growth rate in China has dampened and the rate has picked up in India, so much so that, India's rate is higher than that of China now.
The main point of this discussion should be the health of both economies and the general mood of investors of US/europe. They "most certainly" feel that India provides more bang for their buck than Pakistan.

.
Nice start. BTW India has attracted $209 BILLION, from April 2014 to Dec 2017 (2 1/2 years), which is around $84 billion/year. pakistan needs to multiply their FDI by 245x to catch up, good luck!!

india's population is 7 times Pakistan's population. Break it down to the ratio level and it is india that needs to catch up to us. So good luck. 8-)

@Kaptaan @Horus @waz ...This is a very positive news for Pakistan...But i am wondering, I do not find US as an investor in this list? Is it a true list?
no us investor is excellent news. less us investment means less us state department's influence.

So if we drill it down to individual level. World invest 6 times on an Indian than a Pakistani. Okay?
Uh, yyyyyeah... probably because indians are cheap, expendable and will happily get slapped twice by the western neo colonists and beg for two slaps. LOL. I see it at work every day, heck, sometimes I'm one of those supplying the slaps and smacks along with a few spanks.8-)

Wtf, this thread has to do with India?
Oh absolutely nothing. But you know how indians are...starving for attention like the iblees ki bayva that they are...LOL
