ISLAMABAD: The chief of Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F), Maulana Fazl-ur-Rahman, Monday said there was no such movement as “Taliban” anywhere in Pakistan, Geo News reported.

“We do not recognize the movement, which the forces have officially acknowledged as Taliban’s. It was simply unacceptable to us”, said he addressing a press conference here.

Going forward, JUI-F leader, in the strongest of words, warned against dubbing anyone as terrorist.

“No one can be allowed to brand someone as a terror-monger”, Maulana Fazal said.

He said his party had always raised voice for the sectarian harmony and would continue to do so down the line.

Fazl was of the view that seminaries, clerics, and students were being targeted under a conspiracy.

"People are tired of picking up dead bodies. It's time sectarian violence was reined in. I appeal to my workers to thwart this intrigue", he said.

To a question he said a military operation could not bring about peace in the country.

"Warfare cannot ensure lasting peace. It doesn't work that way. They have to come up with better ideas", Fazl added.
