Father shoots family, himself in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: In a brutal incident in sector I-10 of the federal capital, four people have been found murdered at their home.

According to police, it was an apparent suicide bid by the head of the family who had shot his wife and two daughters, before killing himself.

Only a young man from the family survived, who later told police that he was sent out of the house by his father to the market minutes before the incident.

Police said that the head of the family identified as Afzaal Raza had moved to Islamabad with his family last month. His son told police that his parents were fighting regularly over family differences.

Police also found sleeping pills from the house. IG Islamabad Bin Yameen told newsmen that it seemed Afzaal had drugged his family before shooting them in their head.

He later committed suicide. The son is being questioned by the police. The killing comes on the heels of a similar incident in Karachi where five members of a family were shot dead in their DHA residence.

You didn't get! It wasn't about those who kill themselves, obviously dead don't present excuses, it was about me & you who blame poverty instead of their cowardice. There are billions of people around who face poverty but unlike some cowards they face it courageously. To no degree this act of an insane be justified, absolutely cold-blooded killing.

What is so courageous about begging for money to feed yourself, or dying from malnutrition? Those are the ground realities of poverty. Weather you perceive suicide as cowardice or not, it's all a matter of perception. And it's not out of cold blood. It's usually hopelessness and despair. Billions worldwide face poverty, yes; and millions from them commit suicide.

I'm of the opinion that one should have the right to take his own life, if he so wishes; but not someone else.

When someone with weak faith is frustrated by the stubbornness of the other partner and finds himself in trouble which he can not get out of, suicide is normally the course. But before he puts a bullet to his head, he wants to punish the other partner too, and then don't want to leave his kids alone at the mercy of this world, we see such sad incidents. He sent the boy out probably because he thought he was big enough to survive and can cope with this world, but this trauma will take its toll on the lone survivor too, its very hard for someone to lose all of his family in one go like that, and that too unnaturally.

May Allah protect the remaining soul and heal his injured soul.

well said @Thorough Pro....and now days the worse part is that these incidents are showing up again and again...and main factor is actually weak faith...because Allah has mentioned in quran that he created human to bear hardships....but the element which makes this human nature rough and tough is related with faith...if human has weak faith,then he can't survive in this cruel cruel world!
