Family planning: Pakistan still has a long way to go

One kid = Economy slowing down in the future (2 persons become 1 person)
Two kids = Economy stagnating (Population maintained)
Three kids = Economy growing!

So be :bunny::bunny:have more kids!!!!! Don't listen to family planning!

people who are saying tht having more children brings economy problems...Ill tell you about my grand father...he was a Hakeem in Balakot..he had eleven children 5 sons and 6 daughters...due to some zameen ka masla they moved to Lahore..anyway they lived hand to mouth(my father words) for many years...n now Alhamdulilah...out of 5 sons..4 are living aboard..one is Canadian national..3 are in Saudi Arabia..and one is living in Pakistan...all daughters got married..one is american national..one is in Saudi...and rest of them are in Pakistan....bottom line..poverty doesnt matter If one is hardworking and caring for his family...good days will come..so If you see cases in Pakistan where people are not taking caring of children blame their parents ignorance...not the children...Ill never believe in family planning because rizq comes from Allah...If you are so concerned about poverty conditions in Pakistan...thn why dont you give money for the education of poor?...Only education will make a difference in Pakistan not family planning.

According to the 2014 CIA Factbook, the following are the,

Human Fertility Rates for Major South Asian Economies:
Pakistan - 2.86
India - 2.51
Bangladesh - 2.45
Sri Lanka - 2.13

According to some other sources, Bangladesh' rate is even lower. The low fertility rate was possible in Bangladesh only through free womens' education programs (from primary all the way to University) and pay programs (families got free 'chawal' if their daughter went to school). Educated women think more about careers and contributing to the economy rather than sitting at home having babies.

These programs essentially halved the fertility rate in the span of less than two decades. Since we in Bangladesh live on a small piece of land (although more suitable for cultivation area-wise) this was a critical situation and steps were needed urgently.

Percent of arable land:
Pakistan - 27%
India - 53%
Bangladesh - 59%
Sri Lanka - 20%

So for all detractors who call Bangladesh overpopulated - there it is :-)

Why family planning yaar!!!! You are actually doing a holy job by increasing Muslim population on earth :enjoy: . Bangladesis are far behind in this "must do" religious duty as appears in the above statistics  . Kafir :taz:

Bangladesh has done exceptionally well in family planning and health. Without a doubt a good model for India to follow.

We literally have to race to ensure our TFR reaches 2.1 or below otherwise we are simply piling up human misery. The situation is even more critical for Bangladesh considering the growing sea level will put additional strain on resources.

Do you have the time line for when Bangladesh reaches 2.1 TFR ?
