Fake ISI major arrested

Islamabad: The Aabpara Police, on the information of intelligence agency, have arrested a fraudulent identified as Arif Minhas, impersonating himself as an ISI major, while collecting heavy amounts as bribe from relatives of the missing persons for their recovery, the police sources said on Friday.The suspect was also accused of receiving money from different people for their appointment in the Islamabad Police as assistant sub inspectors. The police have registered FIR (No. 355) under sections 419/ 420/170 and 506 PPC and started investigation.

they are too many wanabees on the street these days. since lea do not have any way of verifying the identity so mostly these guys would get away with it. Sometime, a dedicated, well trained asi is just able to pick the wanabes by a mere look.

This news has alaramed me,although our army has indeed better security system to secure and maintain record,however seeing current crisis, terrorist can use such technique to create anarchy and confusion,indeed our LEA need advance Integrated Management security systems to give better performance as well as to keep record more secure of security officers and that of criminals.

For-example an asi stops a random vehicle , the driver produces the Identity card of his parent organization, ASI will say ok sir, tussi jao. Case close. Be it a driver, a clerk or an Assistant Director of grade 17, no further questions will be asked. Not unless the ASI smells the rotten eggs. again he will have to use his personal instincts & experience to make the right call.
so first you need to change the culture, Police needs to let go of the fear of agencies, be it SB,IB, FIA, or ISI.

Yes balixd,this is another important point which you have raised,totally agree my friend.
So,in order to resolve this culture,we need to improve our requirement for hiring of low ranked officers as well,furthermore we need to work on their grooming,need to update their training,we need to increase the standard of their training course as well.
The police staff must be given better quality of training courses and during their training sessions,the training authorities must assure of proper implementaion of conception of 'Equal treatement in the sight of law' to every officer of any rank or command whether it is high rank or low rank.
Second,we need to analyse another factor :

spot on- but where are you going to get resources for it.....???

btw there is more to it, its a sensitive matter, better leave it here. Police will never be allowed to keep a check on movements of Intelligence officers. The only way to curb on such incidents is by letting the Intelligence agency handle the case.

Seeing current culture of police do you think that they are 'effecient' enough to keep an eye on intelligence...
When I spoke of proper strict monitoring systems i meant to say updation of equipment for data record and a sperate committe which will keep check on police officers of high and low rank officers to maintain the discipline,restricted,organized environment for better performance.lol

you are talking about Police with means to verify the identity of the person in question. but when the next man himself as Intelligence officer, this changes the whole picture.
Keep in mind there is no ID card for any of the Security Agencies.....lets bury the hatchet here......mitti pao.....
