Faisalabad administration raids on ‘high-level’ wedding ceremony

FAISALABAD: District administration raided on an ongoing wedding ceremony being attended by prominent political personalities including former PM Yousaf Raza Gillani and Raja Riaz in Faisalabad, local media reported.

The administration’s officials conducted raid over violation of “one-dish” and “events’ timing” rules ordered by the authorities, Express News reported.

According to reports, the district administration has charged five persons over the violation; as well as seized food and lighting materials of the event.

Several renowned political personalities were present in the wedding ceremony including former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani and former senior minister of Punjab Raja Riaz Ahmad Khan.

It should be mentioned that the Punjab government had earlier announced to restrict timing of the wedding ceremonies till 10pm.
