The Haval H9 looks like a beast! @TaiShang ! Chinese auto industry is really producing beautiful machines !

Haval H9 - Haval’s flagship H9 SUV has Prado in its sights | GoAuto

"CHINESE SUV specialist Haval looked to Toyota’s esteemed LandCruiser Prado when it set out to craft its own serious large off-roader, the H9.

Which is not surprising, really, as the Prado is considered by many as the class benchmark – and Haval’s engineering vice-president just happens to be former Toyota chief engineer Suguya Fukusato."

Ah, sad .
Because Japan itself owns the best car companies.
(Like Metallurgy,Machiningaccuracy tech.)Toyota, Honda have been the global car industry's technology leaders.
Japanese needlessly buy Ford, whose tech is far behind Japanese companies.

Great Wall Motors Monthly Sales of 90,000 Units Become Normal
News 2016-02-19

According to sales data released on February 15th, Great Wall Motors sold 90,600 units in January 2016, up 2.85 percent year on year, laying a solid foundation for its sales boom in 2016. Since last November, Great Wall Motors has achieved record sales and sold over 90,000 units for three consecutive months, enjoying a comfortable lead over other Chinese brands.

HAVAL's sales continue to rise, key models fall short of demand

HAVAL has always been a strong weapon of Great Wall Motors. Amid the market slump in 2015, HAVAL's sales grew by over 50 percent.

In 2016, HAVAL continued to soar with sales of 74,200 units in January, up 5.91 percent year on year. Key HAVAL models achieved brilliant sales successively and fell short of demand in terminal markets. Particularly, HAVAL H6, a champion model with a cumulative output and sales volume of over one million units, achieved sales of 42,188 units in January, up 16.81 percent year on year. With sales of over 40,000 units for three consecutive months, HAVAL H6 may create a new normal: monthly sales of over 40,000 units. HAVAL H2 and H1 also had strong performance with sales of 17,300 units and 10,500 units in January, up 13.55 percent and 38.73 percent year on year respectively.

Pickup sales grow steadily, car sales rebound

s the base product of Great Wall Motors, Great Wall pickups have not only retained the domestic sales championship for 18 consecutive years, but also enjoyed great popularity in the international market and earned favor from numerous overseas consumers. The monthly sales of Great Wall pickups had stabilized at around 10,000 units in recent years, and continued to grow steadily to 10,400 units in January.

With the upgrading of Great Wall cars and the continuous release of the preferential policy of purchase tax, car sales have begun to rebound, too. According to sales data for January, 4,688 units of Great Wall C30 were sold, up 1.71 percent year on year and up 7.62 percent from last month.

According to a related official of Great Wall Motors, Great Wall Motors will intensify SUV development, constantly enrich its product line, maintain the competitive edge of HAVAL through ever-improved quality, and actively develop new energy products to meet industrial demand.

indonesian auto market is dominated by japanese cars, the key success for indonesian market is build your factory here, otherwise, your competitor will eat all your market share because they always can offer competitive price
Toyota has strong presence here because they have long established manufacturing hub, join venture with local company PT.Astra International

So ? He is a former engineer at Toyota, he is now currently an engineer for Haval. Besides, his working for Haval is not the reason for the company's success, which is due in part to the Marketing , design, and mechanical engineering sectors. Its a collaborative framework , which illustrates the wealth of cooperation between Japan and China --- systems-wide. .

Yes kinda agree with sis. Toyota is very balanced, after all it's full portfolio company, less sexy but reliable. Honda is slightly different, I see dream & passion in it when they were in F1 and made the CSi, and of course NSX. And I really like some non-mainstream makers & products like Subaru, Mazda RX, Mitsubishi Evo. Nissan is kinda strange, quite mediocre generally speaking but able to build GTR which has become a religion, and Infiniti FX is another sexy combination of sports + SUV.

Anyway countless legends for me, Mark X, Land Cruiser, CSi, NSX, GTR, RX7, Supra, Evo, WRX, FX ......

Japanese cars now dominate Africa. The Japanese are now concentrating on South America, where Fiat-Chrysler and Volkswagen dominate.

Bro they are critical, remember I told you long time ago that many Japanese pros were hired? From engine to ergonomics to gear box to everything Chinese car-makers need talents. Especially aged 50-60 Japanese retired engineers with excellent craftmanship, hard to find in market, even more expensive than hiring an experienced CFO from Hong Kong.

Absolutely bro, the Japanese specialists that are hired provide a role in finding the objective for the company, and including some essential characteristics found in Japanese auto industry that may do well to boost productivity and or design of the organization (Chinese auto industry a, b,c et al). Ultimately these specialists impart some wisdom, however, the overall responsibility and engine of growth will be the Chinese design engineers, Chinese marketing specialists, who have the mandate to utilize Japanese data / experience to transform the company in respect to the Chinese auto market. Ultimately, the Chinese auto industry has the innate upper hand due to the shear size of the market they're working with: 1.4 Billion. Bro, pardon my french, but that's one god damn huge asss market. That is the critical difference between US auto industry , Japanese auto industry and Chinese auto industry --- not the design, not the technology , these are only components of the whole. The critical difference is that the Chinese auto industry has the potential to reach critical mass -- in dominating such a massive market ; 1.4 Billion. Given the rapid economic growth of China, the rising Chinese middle class, well, there's a reason why US auto companies are striking Chinese market like hot cakes. lol.

Japan secures its hold in the Chinese market through creative partnerships with Chinese auto industry. And that illustrates the depth of our two nations' relationship. I suppose cooperation is a theme that transcends politics; its just trans-national ! lol.

;)

Haha! Well his reply to me was a big "So..." Not realizing the importance of him. He was a chief engineer. He's even listed on wiki pages Lexus IS (XE20) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That is why i referred to his & other specialists' role in transforming China's auto industry. In the end , these are not Japanese companies, but Chinese first and foremost.

Ultimately is it really wrong for Japanese chief engineers to be in the employ of Chinese companies? Did not Japanese auto industry gain much needed critical information during the early period of our own auto industry -- and borrowed from Ford, and other european auto makers? So what is wrong with imparting knowledge and sharing experience?

We do this already in the academic field where research is published and shared to impart on the wider body of knowledge.

I suppose the same applies in auto industry.
