F-16IN replace Tejas Mk 2?

Rather than build an American engined powered light fighter that operational only after 2020, why not buy F-16IN from the US?

Tejas is already 2x the price of F-16 with 1/4 of its capability.

Because Tejas MK1 is a point defense, and MKII is still on the drawing board. The job of F-16 can be done by MKI's and possibly in future by Rafale.
