Extracting Himalayan Pink Salt in Pakistan - Big Business

. .
Pak should raise the price, it's very cheap every where.

its is fairly cheap. but then its just salt, pink salt isn't some essential item. as such, it is price sensitive, you raise the price, then less people will buy it. which might mean overall less money even if each individual lb is sold for more.

Ah, yes in Economics classes you match the supply with the demand wanted.

It is OK to raise prices provided there is a marketing effort behind it.

Although India and Pak are (allegedly) enemy countries, pink salt has a premium attached to it in India if it is said to be of a Pakistani origin. We call it sendha namak after the Indus Salt Ranges.

Falls in nice to have category. Not must have.
Increase price too much, and other products will corner market share. Especially in this inflationary economy.

It is more expensive than ordinary white cooking salt available at the local Sainsbury super market. Increasing the price could affect its demand

No need to increase the price, its already sold at a higher price than normal salt. Just ban its export as a raw material and only sell finished products.
