Thousands of Australian sheep have been culled in Pakistan.
The shipment had been stranded in Karachi for several weeks after being turned away from Bahrain because authorities said the sheep carried disease.
The Australian exporter, Wellard Rural Exports, says 11,500 sheep were culled on Saturday.
It says the livestock authorities responsible for the cull have assured PK Livestock, the importer of the sheep, that the cull would be completed humanely.
But, in a statement, Wellard says that can't be verified because its staff and PK Livestock staff were forcibly removed from the facility.
Wellard says the sheep were healthy and the cull is devastating.
