Export stands out in turbulent year

But dude, unfortunately you lack the capacity to judge if I know anything about economics or not.

You do not know much about economic theory at all, nor how things works in practice. You thought somehow BD will move to trading in Yuan just because the govt advised business to consider using Yuan and advised bank to facilitate. You actually think BD business houses trades in foreign currency.

Your bizzare calculations and ratios are Ofcourse very simplistic. Its not your fault, I suppose you are working with rudimentary grasps of how you think things work. Its ok, I am assuming you are just a teenager and I do not admonish children for being children.

But I was right and you are wrong there. Your problem is that you cannot see past the pre-existing financial system and cannot appreciate how fast things are changing now.

BD and China are working on currency swap for the small portion of their trade where it would work.
If there was not such a trade imbalance then they could do it even more.

No less than the Chinese ambassador said so around 1 month ago.

I think you took offence to my previous post but you said some strange things the other day for sure.

But you were not right. You insisted that BD businesses can be compelled to use Yuan.
I told you they can not and BD banks have ignored govt circular cause there is no money to be made. Go read your post to refresh your memory.

I do not take offense if someone disagrees with me, it takes all kind to make the world go around.

Again you want to put all the obstacles up while I was suggesting that the BD government must work with China to accelerate the move to as much currency swap deals as possible. Nothing I was saying suggested that it need happen immediately.

China is losing competitiveness in the apparel market and in 5-10 years time they will be importing a whole load of garments, a lot of which could come from BD. BD could substantially lessen its trade deficit with China as the decade passes. Saudi has been making noises about selling some if it's oil in Yuan.

BD is a country that does not take any sides whatsoever and it is an absolute strategic BD interest that dollar hegemony comes to an end asap. It should take what small steps are within its power to accelerate this.

No reasoning with these guys!

They cannot see beyond their Veranda let alone the horizon.

Bangladesh has to engage all the big players - even if it means upsetting Uncle Sam.

USA will always insist on exclusivity. And BD cannot afford that!

Hasina is a master geopolitical strategist and she even called the sanctions on Russia stupid in public.

She would not have done that if she thought the USA could threaten her rule in any way whatsoever.

These amateurs think they know more about geopolitics than Hasina. :cheesy:

In 10 years time, it is almost certain that BD exports to USA, India and China will be equivalent. Western markets will probably represent no more than half of all BD exports. with the majority of its imports coming from China and India.

BD trade will become heavily focused around the Asia Pacific region by the 2030s and the West will just be another large trading partner for it.

Well I live in UK, nothing is collapsing. There are strikes, there is a cost of living crisis but there is no possibility of any kind of revolution.

The bottom 20% of population of UK enjoys living standard far in excess of overwhelming majority of the population of N.Korea.

You are in south korea so you are close to the issue. S. Korean per capita GDP is approximately is only 70% of UK GDP. How would you compare bottom 20% of south Koreas population to N.Korea? Now extrapolate for a much much richer country which is UK.

In terms of south america, not sure where you got your information from. Brazil/Argentina transition to democracy only in the 80's, their colonial mother countries of portugal
and spain started their journey towards democracy only a decade before. Other south american countries are also only democratising now, the majority of the population of these countries are POC with leadership of european descent, they are not democracies.

What, the quote taken directly from the article you posted?

Only turkey here is obvious for everyone to see.

Is that terrible enough to you, when 25% of British do not have enough to eat and have to skip meals? Much worse than North Korea for sure.

I know that British government has a lot of money and on theory, they can feed their own people. But such excuse will only magnifies the terrible nature of the system.

Ignore him!

Another BD poster who is detached from reality.

Combination of Brexit and covid mismanagement could push Britain to the second tier of Europe - alongside Greece and Portugal.

Those who make their living out of the city of London - doing extremely well.

Outside of that is pretty dire!

Home working (which I love) has made the gap even bigger!

Media magnifies issues. There are people suffering with the cost of living crisis but to compare UK to N.Korea is just a joke. But you are free to believe as you will.
