Until Pakistani law enforcement gets its "embezzlement" case together the crimes H.H. are accused of appear to be purely political in nature. Should he return to face possible execution for these? Would it be good for Pakistan?

As far as HH is concerned, his words will always be taken lightly because they are heavily biased. Every successive government claimed that they will bring back the looted wealth. The last government even promised to "tear open the bellies of "such" robbers and retrieve the loot" if they were elected. Almost all major bank in Pakistan have "wholesale" branches in Qatar, UAE, they barely have any and advances on their books except NBP. They were meant to allow local banks to invest in US treasuries but have been used for money laundering.

The purpose of this thread is to educate ourselves about the volume of wealth which has been stored illegally out of Pakistan and how much of it can be pottentially brought back easily without having to maneuver the complexities of national and international law.

Not a day goes by and we hear different reports on media of this much $billion stored in country 'x', that much $billion illegally stored in 'y'.

Just recently I heard that $135 billion is stored is UAE. These are huge sums considering our reserves right now. There's a lot of talk about 'looti hui daulat wapis layen gay' but no clear targets, goals and timelines.

So I would like all to share your inputs about roughly how much wealth return are we looking at and in how much time and in what forms. I don't think it's going to be as simple as Swiss govt transferring x $billion and Arab govts returning y $billion directly into our banks in days. Kudos

I think there's some confusion between very rich people having properties and money in other countries legally versus money laundered illegally.

Many rich people all over the planet have wealth and properties spread all the world. They like travelling.
