And that was his mention of bringing special focus on Islamic motivation and education in Navy and of Naval officers and sailors and other personal . Trusting ALLAH and adding teachings of Quran and Sunnah and Arabic language. Plus recruiting scholars and Islamic motivational speakers. So it's quite appalling that nobody literally nobody has discussed it.

اصل موضوع پر آنے سے قبل مختصراً ایک حالیہ تنازعہ پر بات کرنا چاہوں گا۔ ایک انتہائی قابلِ اعتراض ٹی وی اشتہار جس میں پروڈکٹ بیچنے کے لئے آئیٹم سونگ چلایا گیا، جس کے خلاف میں نے ایک ٹویٹ کیا تو فوری سوشل میڈیا پر اِس اشتہار کے خلاف سخت عوامی ردِعمل سامنے آیا۔


اِس مسئلہ پر سوشل میڈیا میں کیا ہوا؟ میں اِس تفصیل میں پڑے بغیر ایک بات واضح کرنا چاہتا ہوں کہ میری نظر میں ایسے اشتہارات اور قابلِ اعتراض فلموں اور ڈراموں میں کام کرنے والی ماڈلز اور اداکارائیں بعض اوقات بدترین استحصال کا شکار ہو جاتی ہیں اور پیسہ کمانے کے لئے اُنہیں بعض اوقات سیکس آبجیکٹ کے طور پر بھی استعمال کیا جاتا ہے۔ جب میں فحاشی و عریانی کے خلاف بات کرتا ہوں تو وہ بنیادی طور پر اُس گناہ کے عمل کے خلاف بات ہوتی ہے نہ کہ اُس کا مقصد کسی فرد کو نشانہ بنانا ہوتا ہے۔

اسلام کے مطابق اچھے کام کی ترغیب اور بُرے کام سے روکنے کی ذمہ داری ہر مسلمان کو ادا کرنی چاہئے، جس کا مقصد اُس شخص سے دراصل ہمدردی ہوتا ہے جو گناہ کا کام کرتا ہے کیوں کہ اُسے آپ گناہ کے عمل سے بچانے کی بات کرتے ہیں۔ باقی ہم نے کئی ایسے اداکار اور اداکارائیں دیکھیں جنہیں اللہ تعالیٰ نے ہدایت دی اور اُنہوں نے اپنے پرانے طرزِ زندگی کو گناہ سمجھتے ہوئے ترک کیا اور اسلامی طریقہ زندگی کو اپنا لیا۔ آج کون کیا کر رہا ہے اور کل کیا کرے گا؟ اس کا علم صرف میرے رب کو ہے۔ ہمیں اپنے سمیت سب کے لئے ہدایت کی دعا کرتے رہنا چاہئے۔

اب آتے ہیں اصل موضوع کی طرف۔ کل ایک بڑا آدمی ریٹائر ہو گیا ہے۔ یہ بڑا آدمی نیول چیف ایڈمرل ظفر محمود عباسی ہیں، جنہوں نے اپنے تین سالہ دور میں پاکستان نیوی میں ایسا انقلاب برپا کیا جو نہ صرف قابلِ تحسین بلکہ قابلِ تقلید بھی ہے۔ اِس بارے میں مَیں نے کئی ماہ پہلے ایک کالم بھی لکھا، جس کی کچھ تفصیل یہ ہے۔ ایڈمرل عباسی کی ہدایت پر پاک بحریہ اور بحریہ فائونڈیشن کے تحت چلنے والے تمام اسکولوں میں قرآن کو فہم کے ساتھ لازمی طور پر پڑھایا جا رہا ہے جس کے لئے پرانے اساتذہ کی تربیت کی گئی اور نئے استاد بھی بھرتی کئے گئے۔

اس کے ساتھ ساتھ بحریہ کے رہائشی علاقوں میں قرآن سنٹرز کھولے گئے ہیں جہاں بچوں، بڑوں اور بوڑھوں، سب کو قرآن حکیم کی فہم کے ساتھ تعلیم دی جاتی ہے اور اسلامی اقدار کے فروغ اور مغرب کی ذہنی غلامی سے چھٹکارے پر زور اور تربیت دی جاتی ہے۔ اسلامی لباس اور اسلامی شعائر کو اپنانے پر زور دیا جاتا ہے اور طلبہ کو بالخصوص علامہ اقبال کے فکری انقلاب سے روشناس کروایا جاتا ہے۔ بحریہ یونیورسٹی میں اسی سلسلہ میں اقبال چیئر کا بھی قیام عمل میں لایا جا چکا ہے۔

پاک بحریہ کی تاریخ میں پہلی مرتبہ اب تک کوئی دو سو Religious Motivation Officersبھرتی کئے جا چکے ہیں۔ اِن افسران نے بہترین دینی اور دنیاوی تعلیم حاصل کی ہوئی ہے اور نیول اکیڈمی کے تربیت یافتہ ہیں۔ اِن Religious Motivation Officers کی ذمہ داری ہے کہ وہ نیول افسران اور ماتحت اہلکاروں کی اسلامی تعلیمات کے مطابق زندگی گزارنے کے حوالے سے حوصلہ افزائی کریں۔ اِن افسران کو نیوی کے جہازوں میں بھی افسران اور ماتحت اہلکاروں کی اسلامی اصولوں کے مطابق تعلیم و تربیت کے لئے بھیجا جاتا ہے۔ اِن افسران کی یہ بھی ذمہ داری ہے کہ خطبۂ جمعہ دیں اور دورِ حاضر کے ایشوز پر دسترس رکھتے ہوئے عوام کی اسلامی تعلیمات کی روشنی میں رہنمائی کریں۔

ریٹائر ہونے والے نیول چیف کے دور میں بحریہ کے تحت چلنے والی تمام مساجد کی بہترین انداز میں تزین و آرائش کی گئی ہے جبکہ خطیب اور امام مساجد کی تعداد ماضی کے مقابلے میں دو گنا کر دی گئی ہے۔ اس کے ساتھ ساتھ پاکستان نیوی اکیڈمی کے کیڈٹس کے لئے عربی زبان کی تعلیم کو لازم کر دیا گیا ہے جبکہ PNSجوہر کی ڈگری میں قرآنی عربی کا نفاذ بھی کر دیا گیا ہے۔

خواتین کو پردہ کرنے کی ترغیب دی جاتی ہے، اُن کے لئے خصوصاً پڑھاتے وقت اعضائے ستر کو چھپا کر رکھنے کی ہدایت دی گئی ہے جبکہ مردوں کو نگاہوں کی حفاظت کرنے اور شائستگی اپنانے پر زور دیا جاتا ہے۔ پروموشن کے لئے پاک بحریہ کے افسران کے کردار کو اب بہت اہمیت دی جاتی ہے یعنی اگر کوئی افسر چاہے جتنا ہی قابل اور لائق ہو لیکن باکردار نہ ہو تو اُسے ترقی نہیں دی جاتی۔

یہ سب کسی خوبصورت انقلاب سے کم نہیں، جس پر ایڈمرل ظفر عباسی مبارک باد کے مستحق ہیں اور جس کی لازمی طور پر پورے پاکستان میں تقلید ہونی چاہئے کیونکہ نہ صرف ہمارے آئین کا یہی منشا ہے بلکہ یہ سب کچھ وہ ہے جو تحریک انصاف کے اُس وعدے کے مطابق ہے جس کا مقصد پاکستان کو ریاستِ مدینہ کے اصولوں کے تحت چلانا ہے۔ میں امید کرتا ہوں کہ نہ صرف نئے نیول چیف اِن اقدامات کو آگے بڑھائیں گے بلکہ آرمی چیف اور ائیر چیف بھی اس خوبصورت انقلاب کو پاکستان آرمی اور پاکستان ائیر فورس میں متعارف کروائیں گے۔

یہاں میں قارئین کو یہ بتاتا چلوں کہ سبکدوش ہونے والے نیول چیف اسلام اور اسلامی نظام کے نفاذ کا وزیراعظم عمران خان کے ساتھ میٹنگز میں کھل کر اظہار کرتے تھے۔

ایک میٹنگ کے دوران ایڈمرل عباسی نے وزیراعظم سے کہا کہ پاکستان میں موجود بہت سی خرابیوں کا تعلق سودی نظام سے ہے، جو اسلام کی تعلیمات کے خلاف ہے اور جسے ختم کئے بغیر ہم ان بیماریوں اور خرابیوں سے جان نہیں چھڑا سکتے۔ میری دعا ہے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ ایڈمرل ظفر عباسی کو اِن بہترین اقدامات پر اجرِ عظیم عطا فرمائے۔ آمین!

Generally, every kid in Pakistan is taught these teachings. But does this turn them into better human beings who do not do corruption and do not misuse their power?

Yes. It’s not surprising for those who are in the military. During Adm Abbasi’s time Religious Motivation Officers (RMOs) we’re inducted in the navy. RMO concept is from USN where they have RMOs Onboard. A novel concept executed with brilliance in PN. For a Naval Chief who used to lead prayers himself this was another addition to PN.

What is the reason for Navy to focus on this specifically? I guess the nature of the job requires it - eg being in a small compartment over sea for weeks, even worse for those under water.

Zarvan: This shouldn't be of any surprise and you should know what I meant to say. Those who had the doubts, will discuss but not us. May ALLAH strengthen our faith more & more & keep us on the righteous path.

It will help us to fight extremist thought which can be developed in personals. Right curriculum selection and objectives, will make our armed forces environment, more radical free and tolerant.
Plus we need this as it will strengthen our moral compass, which is that we fight for right, and not for gains and victory. The current pandemic proves that as a nation we didn't follow SOPs but still safer from COVID-19. It doesn't mean we professionalism is not needed, but the determination will increase more to protect the homeland.

That can be the reason for not doing it. It seem more to do with first Zakaullah than Zafar Mehmood Abbasi thought process.
