Its not just the political class the people's of the region are tired of india

And the results in Maldives indicate as such to you? Do illuminate how?

While good news, India and China should both let these smaller countries thrive independently.
We are not neo imperialists, I presume.

I have highlighted the most pertinent word here. Every nation, and for that matter even a human being, is about exploiting the situation/surroundings to further own interest. What changes is the individual/nation.

Lol massive news for India. Never thought that Indians would celebrate such news from a tiny country like Maldives.

Two reasons:

1. A principled stand over democracy - a bit of a confounding concept it may be for you and your nation. Democracy wins - the writ of the people reigns supreme by an emphatic margin in this case.

2. It is, at the end of the day, about markets and access to it.

Ah sure difficult times for supa pawa I suppose, they ll hold onto anything they get these days. Humiliation for Modi both domestically and at international front has broken spine of Indian arrogance.

And why not? Are you not holding on to better options in the Isles instead of being in your own country, working to make it better and improve it?
