Every year 370 out of 372 Pakistani dramas are made in Karachi: Shaan Shahid

I came across Shaan's interview on another well known Pakistani forum, I was surprised by his claim that 370 out of 372 Pakistani dramas every year are made in Karachi (produced by Karachi-based studios).

"To start with, the link between Karachi and Lahore is very important. Unfortunately there is an intellectual and artwise divide between these two great cities. We need to create harmony between these two centers of excellence. We have a situation where we have 372 new TV dramas made a year out of which 370 are made in Karachi and two are made in Lahore! We need to plug this type of difference and rise above regionalism. This is an important aspect apart from that we have the talent and the skills so there is really nothing to worry about."

First thing first we should stop debating about anything that some nobody says. being an actor doesnt mean he has all the data about productions.

Nothing wrong in that. Cosmopolitan cities like karachi, mumbai, dakha, shanghai etc etc have always been center of media industry.

Shan has actually praised karachi that this city is producing maximum drama productions.

He has not said any thing against karachi drama industry or karachi.

He is most likely right cause he is the biggest actor in Pakistan, and it is a fact that most large studios are based in Karachi and so are most major channels like HumTv,ARY,Geo etc

Lahore still has Lollywood, though that might be changing now.

I dont think it would bother anyone what is done where in Pakistan, after all Karachi is Karachi. Lollywood is finished long time ago

Well Lahore film industry have revived Pak movie industry, remember Yalghar, waar etc are all lahore based movies basically.

Waar was produced by Mandviwalla films, a Karachi based production house and distributed by ARY(karachi based), the same production house made Operation 021 and the recent movie Teen Bahadur was produced by Waadi animations(owned by ARY) directed by Karachiite Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy(Bihari origins).

Yalghaar is being produced by Islamabad-based Mindworks films and distributed by Karachi based ARY.

So can't call them Lahore productions.
