EU deal could spur shift to Vietnam

OMG ! ! !:o: how come vietnam's nominal GDP below $300 billion till now ?o_O
should be over $550billion at least
Vietnam export is high but people haven’t much money to spend. Gdp is still too low, we must grow 8 pc or higher similar to Bangladesh growth rate.

does not it mean you are earning money ? this is going over my head :undecided: our GDP will be around $315billion this year with around $40billion export. I have no clue to be honest how is your GDP calculated.
edit: I just figured it out in a small context, it seems you import as much as you export.

I believe $40b is about the amount of VN export volume ten years ago. VN follows an export driven model.sooner or later we will reach $1,000b. As for GDP, that is not the metric VN wants to boast.being poor has certain benefits in external trades.

this is not true, you need balance, if you souly depends on export then it has serious consequences like if world trade falls or export reduces, your economy will be crushed.

Certainly there is a high risk.Agreed. More balanced: yes, by increasing wages, increasing domestic demands, but it can’t happen overnight.Raising wages higher too quick will weaken VN industrial and manufacturing sectors.
