Ethiopia-Djibouti railway -- the Tazara railway in a new era

Good idea. Test it out with freight first. If there are issues, freight is impacted and not people.

Another good idea. Rather than giving a man a fish, teach him how to fish.
Five years should be more than sufficient to train up the locals.
Good that the locals are sent to China and Russia for specialist training.
With these steps, the Ethiopians will keep their trains running for a long long time.

Shenzhen Metro is now running trams in Ethiopian capital.

The capital of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa is a neat looking city.

Yes indeed! That's one reason I am always bullish on the Sub-Saharan Africa, the continent does have a lot of potential, China's bet is correct.
To be honest, I was pleasantly surprise at the situation in Addis Ababa.
Western media tend to portray most places in Africa as running wild with chaos and terrorists.
I suppose sensational media sells. Good news story doesn't sell as well.

When the Ethiopia railway links up with the Kenya-Uganda-Rwanda-Congo railway, I expect to see more development in Africa.
East Africa certainly has a lot of potential, but potential is just potential.
We hope their respective governments are able to capitalize on this fantastic infrastructure.

Sub-Sahara Africa is not the poorest place in terms of GDP per capita....
