I think this JF 17 glorification is going a little overboard.

Please remember that in a real full blown war type scenario, the JFT is not going to face a stray MiG 21 anymore which was most probably lured by F16s for the JFT to score a kill.

This is much like a father which holds the bat for his toddler and gives him some hold of the bat as well so that when the bat hits the ball, the toddler assumes that he hit it and gains confidence.

There are many expectations from our toddler specially block 3. But as of now, it's premature and immature to portray JFT as a Su 30 slayer.

Also, please quit downplaying Su-30. This is ridiculous. And please don't forget that there is still no concrete evidence of an Su 30 being shot by PAF let alone JFT. Just like the F16 kill is a fantasy which our neighbours are wanting to believe, it is much the same with us wanting to believe that a JFT shot an Su-30. I believe that PAF won't officially advertise the JFT as a Su-30 slayer either. The MiG-21 kill is already a decent achievement in and of itself.

Regardless, it's a great step forward for the JFT and a step in the right direction. However, we must not be unrealistic in future expectations from JFT based on an exagerrated version of the incident. Look, what sank the Indians this time around was miscalculation. Miscalulation which made them downplay the enemy's capabilty and overestimate their own. We don't want to be making the same blunder.

Well said, basically we need to keep our feet on the ground, understand our current state and work on improving them to ensure we remain on top no matter what.

1. A dual seater went down, eyewitnesses and videos confirm this based on the number of pilots that were ejecting from an aircraft. ISPR even said that they were initially searching for three, which should be enough of a hint.

2. It can't be a Viper because the Pakistani military denied it. And if they were trying to cover it up, they wouldn't admit that they were looking for two more pilots or that one of them was sent to a hospital. As a result, we can conclude that a Flanker was taken out (because that's the only dual seater India has stationed in that region).

3. This was a perfect scenario. The IAF admitted to sending Bisons, M-2000s and Flankers to tackle our aircraft. Despite this, we hit our targets, took out some of theirs and got out in one piece. This shows that yes, the PAF can still strike India and beat the IAF even if we operate inferior equipment.
