What's new

enormous political power in young age

My last sporting hero of my "generation" man.

Can't see anyone else I'd feel like following anymore anywhere.

Peter Sagan I like though. Kid has potential.

I was more into Formula 1 hehe....the Schumi era made up the bulk of it....but I do know of Rossi....mostly because they would often run that stuff right after the interesting F1 stuff was over ;)

Schumi man here too bro.

He should have never returned again and should have never gone skiing :(

Oh I never minded him returning. I'm a bit of an amateur racer myself. And I absolutely get the urge to pit oneself against the latest fastest kid in town. That part of a racer never dies. His legacy is for us. Racing is for him.

And somewhere I know (hope) it's still burning bright inside him.

It was just weird for me seeing him not in red if you know what i mean.

Though I did follow him even before he joined Ferrari....I think he raced for Benetton. The 90s were the best decade for F1 for me heh.

Absolutely. As weird as watching (painfully) Rossi in red for two disastrous years.

Important to put things into perspective.

The life span of a healthy male in those days was around 40.

So at 25 he was well past middle age.

Not quite true. When you look at the timespan you notice many emperors where well over 50 or even 60 years old.

Agustus got brains along with balls !

People laughed at him when he came to Rome and claimed the Julius Caesar throne as a rightful heir.

agree. but also claudius was amazing. He was not seen as important, he was shy, could not speak properly and so on. They made him emperor because they believed he can be controlled easily. Yet he made excellent decissions and was a great emperor who steered the empire with much thought and wisdom.

People remember Calgula for being crazy and delusional too lol

he wasnt. Keep in mind that he was loved by the common people and hated by the senators. History was weitten by senators. Historians know today that most horror stories are made up and do not represent reality.

I'm in Rome right now and all I can say is, WOW your ancestors really liked penises.

Just an observation

being a man thats normal. Would be bad if not. Imagine we would be sassy desert dwellers who are so extremly awkward that we hide all women behind black robes and build giant soccer stadiums that look like a gigantic vagina. That would be awkward.

That is gonna be kinda awkward with burqa-clad women sitting in it.

I wonder if the foreign design group (if thats who it is), decided to see if they could get away with this so blatantly to troll these desert folk.

That said i looked up emperor Tiberius. What he did was crazy.

Imagin he got bored from rome...the political games...the corruption of the senate ect.

He moved on the island Capri...Capri is a small italian island and he build a giant villa there.

For eleven years the empire was commanded from this island.

He would invite people on his island and asks for their opinions. He would make decissions which would then brought to rome ect.

. .
the heck is this,is it for real:o:

Better believe it.

Its going to spawn its own subset of internet memes I bet ya (once more people see it for real)

Desert rose is now something else :P

My favourite emperor is Trajan. A versatile, pragmatic and complete military mind. I think he embodied all that was good with the Roman Empire at its peak.

Its rulers like him...that we are missing these days in the world.
