Pakistan did not have such a celebrated, manicured, tattooed, proper-hair-cut-with-streaks batting line up like India. Yet they played swing much better, kept down to earth and focused on basics. Played with soft hands. Didnot play anything away from body. Bowled extremely well and outclassed England.

It shows you dont have to be Maharaja of cricket or pretend to be one. Just adapt better and play better. Substance is in performance not style. Indian cricket players are too focused on style. And thats very shallow.

The batting is looking good with Fakhar, Imam opening and Babar Azam in middle order. Shoaib Malik brings in some stability with Babar Azam. Sarfaz is lacking form but i hope he will come around and we have found and excellent hard hitter in shape of Asif. Faheem and Shahdab can handle a bat as well and so can Hassan Ali. A very good looking batting line up indeed.
For bowling, Amir can lead the pack suported by Hassan Ali, Faheem, Shahdab. There is a long list of bowlers that we will be selecting from as 5th main bowler. Usman Khan can partner with Amir on top, many other options.

The team do looks good.

For me, the upcoming Asia cup will be a litmus test as well as an opportunity for Pakistan to access their weakness and work on it.

Anyway, the tread is about India-England test series. It promised a lot, the first test raised expectation as well but the second was a big disappointment. I mean, an innings and 150 odd runs? come on. Still, wont count India out just yet. I expect them to turn it around and come back stronger in remaining 3 matches, thought the series may be lost already.
