So now the first ever electricity generation from Thar Coal has been delayed to spring of 2015. Let's see if this is realizable or will it get delayed again like so many similar claims in the past.

Your above thread will last for only 2 pages, as did the previous such threads:

Issue is not of technology, it is of deliberate sabotage and lack of Govt interest to get it implemented. Govt is simply not funding purchase of 100MW coal gas fired power plant .. See the following presentation from 2012 energy conference

It is more a matter of the poor quality and related economics of the Grade B Lignite that is called Thar Coal.

I think this govt should do what benazir did for energy crisis, the 1994 agreement i believe which was later continued by musharraf govt which led a 3500MW surplus in 2003, but unfortunately the 2007 ppp govt wanted to take shortcuts and hence the shortage kept on growing...

UGC is ideal for this grade and form of coal .. do watch the video of Dr. Samar presentation ..

All empty claims without actual results. In short, same old, same old.

Actually, China has about 30 projects in different phases of preparation that use underground coal gasification.
South African companies Sasol and Eskom both have UCG pilot facilities that have been operating for some time, giving valuable information and data. In Australia, Linc Energy has the Chinchilla site, which first started operating in 2000. Carbon Energy has completed a successful 100 day commercial scale study in Bloodwood Creek in 2008.
Demonstration projects and studies are also currently under way in a number of countries, including the USA, Western and Eastern Europe, Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, Australia and China, with work being carried out by both industry and research establishments.

UGC technology is well known. The claims are about using UGC successfully for large scale reliable power generation using Thar Coal. UGC is not the problem. Using That Coal successfully is the problem.

Getting coal gas from Thar has already been achieved by Dr. Samar team. That step is proved beyond doubt.

Is the 100MW pilot plant working to generate power? Producing some coal gas is no achievement. Large scale power production using UGC from Tar Coal is the issue here.

Should have listened to the video .. all your answers are answered in it.

Like I said, actual results mean much more than claims. Where are the results, Sir?

You want the government to buy oil fueled furnaces? That are inefficient, old, expensive, useless in the 21st century?
