KARACHI: Microsoft sees great opportunity in Pakistan despite of the fact there are hurdles as infrastructure in Pakistan is being transformed into impressive after 3G/4G technology launch, Leila Serhan General Manager Microsoft North Africa, East Mediterranean and Pakistan said.
I believe technology shift will provide excellent opportunities to all walk of people from students to teachers, innovators to entrepreneurs, GM Microsoft said.
Talking to media Serhan said, “I can see tremendous opportunities for growth and development in Pakistan. The new generation of young and talented developers has encouraged us to work more actively with the local market. I think, in a span of two to three years, this market will evolve and grow dramatically. Our objective is to foster innovation and education locally that can empower everyone”.
Though the technologists business is harder in Pakistan but we continued to expand ourselves with every emerging venues of the business. We will continue our corporate social responsibility activities, jobs, training and internship programmes.
The Company is a part of PM Laptop Scheme. It is already working with different universities under Higher Education Commission for providing access to its products for educational purposes.
Three Microsoft Innovation Centres set up in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi will be further utilised for purpose of innovation and entrepreneurship. The app developers are amazing in Pakistan who can make the difference with their ideas and technology but someone should fund them locally dedicatedly, she added.
Company is focusing on Mobile First, Cloud First with its all programmes related to education,
innovation and entrepreneurship.
Companies in Pakistan are rapidly adopting cloud services of Microsoft despite of immense competition with local and foreign players in the market. Microsoft provides choices to customers either to switch completely or partially their operations with functions with features like private, public clouds and hosting services.
