Emergency declared in Kyrgyzstan

Civil unrest engulfed the politically troubled central Asian nation of Kyrgyzstan Wednesday, with the government declaring a state of emergency, the Interfax news agency reported.
At least 35 people have been killed and 400 wounded in fighting between demonstrators and police in Bishkek, the capital, according to country's Health Ministry.

Thats the case for pretty much all of the former soviet republics in central asia. So little is heard of them in the media and yet these countries do hold vast reserves of natural resources such as Gas and Oil and are hence important countries.
