Elon Musk Plans To Populate Mars By Sending One Million People By 2050

Space research organisations like NASA, ISRO, Roscosmos, and many more are researching on Mars and trying to gain as much information as possible. But its seems Elon Musk has his own plans to populate the planet. In the latest report, it has been reported that Elon Musk CEO of the SpaceX has shared some tweets explaining his idea of sending one million people to Mars by 2050.

According to Musk tweet, he is planning to build 1,000 Starships a two-stage rocket system which is expected to be capable enough of landing humans and cargo on Mars. Musk said that the aims are to launch at least three Starships a day and make the trip of the red planet available for everyone.

Besides, Musk has also said that Mars will have a lot of jobs, however, he didn't say anything specific about the jobs. "Megatons per year to orbit are needed for life to become multiplanetary," reads Musk's tweet.

Later in the thread, Musk has also explained how this transport is going to happen. According to him, 1000 Starship will be able to transfer 100 megatons to Mars. So if a Starship is taking 100 people then the total migration will be 100,000 people.

If this turns out to be true and the launch and landing capabilities are successful, then Starship will become the most powerful landing system. Earlier, Musk announced that the Starship prototype launch might be done before the end of March. SpaceX engineers can make up to 20 different prototypes before finalizing the design.

The Starship launch system will require a 22-story rocket booster which is also called Super Heavy. The entire structure of the Starship will stand around 118 metres. Let's see what Musk is going to do with this plan of migrating 100,000 people to Mars. However, the question is what people will do on Mars without food water and basic needs to survive.

Man is colonising the fvcking planet as his grandfather left for him.

Someone needs to stop this BS before it blows on our faces. Any invasive encroachments within the solar system by humans will bring us on the bad side of certain entities that don't take kindly to this kind of behavior

Hawking had warned us

Lol.. yeah right.

Population reduction on Earth will be great for the planet. This is the way forward and I'm happy to see it happen in my lifetime if all goes to plan.

The only way this would be possible is to invent some sort of Atmosphere generators that could start creating the atmosphere of Earth, on Mars. Only then can we consider moving to an Alien planet.

This earth is partially destroyed due the ambitions of bustards like him. And he is aiming for another planet. May Allah he and like him never become successful in reaching other planets.

Elon Musk also go to toilett every time before he tests the windows of his cybertruck...amazing!

Let him volunteer to go there first, thrive, then rest can follow. Having said that we sadly know the is no shortage of people that jump into anything that sounds "cool".

First world problems and its solution

Right, we in the third-world still have to deal with problems like feudalism, farmer suicides and honor killing.

This earth is partially destroyed due the ambitions of bustards like him. And he is aiming for another planet. May Allah he and like him never become successful in reaching other planets.

Actually, the Earth is partially destroyed mainly because of the world's middle-classes who have their greed for the latest consumer goods like cell phones, cars etc. Think how much pollution is caused when millions of these goods are mass-produced in factories.

Having said that we sadly know the is no shortage of people that jump into anything that sounds "cool".

I am not really into jumping for any latest consumerist thing, but certainly Space for me is certainly cool. :enjoy:

You should read "Red Mars" by Kim Stanley Robinson. It is about the first hundred settlers on Mars. To thicken and warm the atmosphere, they dig holes called Moholes in the ground :
A mohole was a great cylindrical excavation in the Martian regolith that could reach hundreds of meters in diameter (typically one kilometer) and several kilometers in depth (as much as 18 kilometers).

As a result of its great depth, pressure at its bottom was superior to the surface's and temperature could largely surpass 273 K (for example 49 °C at the bottom of the Senzeni Na mohole midway through its construction), which provided a working environment more adapted to human life. The excavation for its construction brought to the surface ore that could be processed to valuable metals. The resulting temperature and pressure differential with the surface was such that moholes were natural heating systems and passive atmospheric ventilators, thus contributing to terraforming. Heat was released to the atmosphere in the resulting outgassing and violent updrafts were created, sending air higher than the average Martian lower atmosphere's thickness. The white thermal plume and resulting cloud would be visible from over 200 km alway. Moholes would be dug in proximity to volcanic uprises, so as to catch the wind updrafts and increase the release of heat. Downwind from a mohole, the air would be clear.

I think this sort of population reduction isn't yet possible...and probably won't be by 2050 either. Mars is a hostile world...hostile to life as evident by the lack of presence of life.

There are so many things that had to go right on Earth...that we take for granted...which makes it possible for us to live here. Atmosphere would be the least of our problems...and we may be able to find ways to get around that. The harder problems that we cannot yet solve and probably won't be able to even in 2050 are things like the lack of magnetic field on Mars...or the fact that it only has 38% the gravity of Earth.

... As of yet there's no way to give Mars a magnetic field or increased gravity. In absence of a magnetic field humans would be exposed to all kinds of radiation (UV, X-rays, Gamma rays, etc). The living spaces could be built underground and could use shielding to protect from that...but humans will be exposed to it once they go out to explore. As for reduced gravity...it would create issues with maintaining bone density, possible negative effects on vision, and other similar issues that astronauts face in microgravity.

I mean it might still be a sort of population reduction...just not in the way u think. I wouldn't be surprised if a large number of those "explorers" died off much like what has happened in the past any time humans tried to explore uncharted territory. It would be amazing to see the sunrise from another planet(kind of like how some astronauts got to see the earthrise from the moon) and other such novelty experiences that no human has experienced before but they would be facing overwhelming odds in an environment hostile to life.

A one-way ticket to your death on Mars.

They can't seem to even get their Tesla cars right:.

Recommended? Consumer Reports Clarifies Tesla’s Reliability Results

The score for the cheapest Tesla went from 24 to 59. The Model S barely made the cut.
On November 17, we published an article about Consumer Reports’ 2019 Reliability Survey and the fact that the magazine gave a Recommended status to the Tesla Model S and the Tesla Model 3. At the time, we wanted to clarify some doubts we had about it and we're glad to tell you we managed to chat with Jake Fisher, CR’s senior director of auto testing. He addressed all the concerns we had and even gave some good news to Tesla fans.

Mars cant support life... to support life on Mars regular shipments will be required for even a colony of 100 people... supporting 1 million is a joke even after 50 years ... even ferrying these many is impossible with the technology humans will have in next 100 years.
Computer speed may rise exponentially but Metallurgy science can not ...
