Mars cant support life... to support life on Mars regular shipments will be required for even a colony of 100 people... supporting 1 million is a joke even after 50 years ... even ferrying these many is impossible with the technology humans will have in next 100 years.

habitats is different than self sufficient colony of a million ... a city of million on mars will take much more energy input to just function than similar city in Earth...
On above of that food... clothing other services we are talking about a Type1.5 civilisation that can do that ... humans wont reach even Type 1 in next 100 years

I think the one million population will be spread out over Mars to avoid any sudden dying out of all settlers in one place because of, say an asteroid strike or some catastrophic accident within the single settlement.

So, there will be multiple cities.

And the Starship is being built in stages, I imagine, with safety in mind.

I read somewhere that the Tesla battery-powered cars are self-combusting when the battery comes into contact with water. Is that true ??
